Calvin was ready to pounce in the water.

So he went back up in his tree.

To keep an eye on us
But mostly on the river
Because the river is where caiman live
And he likes caiman
Almost as much as he likes sleep.
He got excited a lot
But there was usually nothing there.
Until there was

He has his mom’s eyes.

Eventually Calvin got up.
And turned around and showed us his butt.
Eventually he went to munch on some grass.
He must have had an upset tummy.
I would think that eating grass would give you an upset tummy.
Maybe it’s a special kind of grass.
If I was the grass I would have been very scared.
But grass can’t run away.
He momentarily went back up into the tree
But then he came back down.
This is Calvin.
His tail doesn’t camouflage very well, so he is easier to spot.
Matt says he’s Calvin because he’s not as fast as Hobbes.
But we never saw Hobbes.
Calvin has a funny ear.
He’s just a young boy.
Still figuring things out.
