This is a cuckoo.

He doesn’t look as silly as you would expect

He seemed like a pretty serious bird

Except when he was grooming.

This was the funniest heron we saw.

It’s essentially like the herons back home, but he posed in funny ways.

And then he caught a fish.

And couldn’t swallow it.

So he had a too big fish.

And he didn’t want us to take it, so he flew with the fish

And then tried to eat the fish

But couldn’t eat the fish

So he had to stand with the fish in his mouth

And fly around with it

Which looked funny

But he still had his fish

When he flew out of sight.

We were not prepared to see an osprey fly by with a fish.

So all of the pictures are blurry.

But he looks so goofy I’m posting them anyway.

Sometimes we didn’t make it back to the cruise ship before sunset.

After the ocelot we had to speed back to the cruise ship in complete darkness under the Milky Way.

We don’t have pictures of that.

Sunset makes for better pictures.

Sunset is pretty.
