  • Juicy Fruit

Posted on September 27, 2025 6:30 am by Kerri & Matt Comment

    I think this was papaya

    image

    Or maybe mango

    image

    It was very juicy

    image

Eating juicy fruit with fur is a bad idea

    image

    But the monkeys enjoyed it.

    image

It was pretty gross to watch though

    image

They don’t chew with their mouths closed

    image

    Monkeys have no manners

    image

    They rarely cover their mouths

    image

They are good at making messes

    image

Juicy fur is a big mess

    image[18]

I do not recommend getting juice in your fur

    image

    If you have fur

  • Grey Cowled Wood Rail

Posted on September 26, 2025 3:16 pm by Kerri & Matt Comment

This is a grey cowled wood rail.

    image

Why are so many birds cowled? Have you ever heard the word “cowled” used for anything else?

  • Hyacinth Macaw

Posted on September 26, 2025 2:32 pm by Kerri & Matt Comment

Hyacinth Macaws are the biggest macaws.

    image

That’s a lot of feathers to deal with.

    image

    They are blue and yellow.

    image

They even have yellow on their tongues.

    image

    They fall in love

    image

    And live in pairs

    image

    In holes in trees

    image

And the male feeds the female so she can take care of the eggs

  • More Tapir

Posted on September 26, 2025 1:45 pm by Kerri & Matt Comment

On the other side of the river the tapir checked us out.

    image

    This involved lots of sniffing.

    image

Which meant lots of funny faces.

    image

We got to see his teeth

    image

    He decided he wasn’t impressed

    image

And wrinkled his nose at us.

    image

So he got out of the water and shook off

    image

    And wandered away.

  • Crimson Crested Woodpecker

Posted on September 26, 2025 10:02 am by Kerri & Matt Comment

This is a crimson crested woodpecker

    image

It looks a lot like the woodpeckers back home

    image

    But smaller

    image

    So we weren’t terribly impressed.
