They are even uglier when they blink.
They stand around in ugly groups
Looking for dead stuff.
This vulture has a pink head
Which actually makes him kind of pretty.

Anhinga
Anhinga are basically cormorants.
But more stabby.
Cormorants have hooks at the end of their beak.
Which they use to catch fish in their beak.
Anhinga have straight beaks.
They stab the fish with their beak
Tricked you, that’s a cormorant.
It looks pretty stabby to me.
We didn’t get any pictures of anhinga fishing.
Anhinga dry out their wings like cormorants.
And they have funny necks like cormorants

The Ocelot Showed Up!
We went to Puerto Jofre for a second chance to see the ocelot.
And she showed up
She was a lot tinier than we expected
Barely the size of a house cat
But with big ears and big eyes
Her back kind of looks like a jaguar’s
She moved very fast
So it was hard to get good pictures.

Orange-backed Troupial
This is an orange-backed troupial.
They do not seem very hard to spot.
But we only saw one, so I guess they are.

We Didn’t Pet the Kitties
Kerri’s Mom said we couldn’t pet the kitties in the Pantanal.
So we didn’t. This one looked pretty grumpy anyway. The Jaguars were way friendlier.
