This is the first tapir we saw
But the second one you are seeing
Because Kerri got confused with all the jaguars
And neglected all the other cool animals
Even the ones with funny long wiggly nose trunks
And cute tongues
This one also went for a swim
He kept his head out of the water the whole time
Moving his nose around to sniff
And sniff
And sniff
It was a long swim
And he had to keep a nose on us
Until he got to the other side
And jumped out with a huge splash.
This is an osprey.
He had a fish.
No one was trying to take the fish.
That would be crazy.
He has big claws.
And was keeping a very close eye on it.
You would have to be very brave to try to steal it.
Bats are even harder to spot than jaguars.
But they’re kind of cute when you do spot them.
There were a lot of them huddled together on the tree.
These are giant river otters.
They are as big as we are.
And hunt in packs.
Even the jaguars are scared of them.
They can hunt caiman.
But mostly they eat fish.
Lots of fish.
Which they spend a lot of time chewing on.
Because as Kerri showed you…
These fish have ribs.
So you have to make sure to pulverize all of the bones before you swallow.
Bella decided to cross the river.
Cub was not sure about this decision, possibly because there were so many boats.
Bella did not care about the boats.
She just wanted to get across the river.
She kept looking back for Cub.
He eventually followed her.
And they disappeared into the plants on the other side.
