There were a lot of birds in Ushuaia
Some of them were gulls.
Some of them were geese
Upland Geese
The girls are brown
The area was very pretty
The seagulls were pretty too.
The cormorants were weird
But they are always weird
Birds fly
Except when they walk.
Kerri is tired.
The Gentoo Penguins hang out further from the beach
They make their nests of rocks
All together in the bare patch
They have orange beaks
And no pink around the eyes
And little white flecks in their face
And spikey tail feathers
That stick out behind them for balance
When they’re not lying on their tubby bellies
Which they do most of the time.
Lying on their white bellies makes them all muddy.
This guy needs a bath

He was at the border between Argentina and Chile
They did not ask him for his passport
He was far away
So none of the pictures are sharp
But Kerri is posting a bunch of them anyway
Because he doesn’t fit in any other post
And you don’t want a post with just one picture
Because he’s cute.
There were a lot of birds in El Calafate.
Some were doing yoga.
Downward dog is hard with wings
The birds were pretty.
And they knew it.
The white ones and the brown ones are usually together.
They can fly
Like most birds.
There were red bellied birds
I don’t know what they are
And I’m too lazy to look it up.
These are flowers. I’m not sure why Kerri put them in the bird post.

The lake in El Calafate is a really pretty turquoise colour.
The lake at the back, by the mountains, not the one in the front.
Unfortunately it’s really hard to get a picture of.

Because from most places it’s just a sliver of lake on the horizon.
And if you get close to the lake the turquoise is still a tiny line on the horizon.
That disappears entirely when the island is in the way.
It’s narrow even if you zoom in.
When you get up higher it’s wider but not as bright.
But it’s there if you zoom in.
When you get way up it covers more of the lake.
Matt made Kerri climb really high but you could barely see the lake from the top.
