Bird park is a good place to impersonate a drowned bird
They also had butterflies
Including one that was freshly eclosed
You can ask Dr. Matt what that means.
Kerri doesn’t think it’s a real word.
But apparently butterflies know how to do it.
He’s not sure if birds know how to do it.
Kerri tried to ask one but he couldn’t talk.
So I guess we’ll never know.
We decided we couldn’t get wetter so we went out on the walkway under the big falls.

She is having trouble with her poncho because the falls make the wind go crazy.
Matt is back there in the orange.
Staying away from the falls, like a smart person.
But eventually he came along.
And he was really happy he did.
Until he realized he couldn’t really see anything.
He was a bit grumpy
For no reason
Whatsoever
But then he was happy again
There was a lot of water.
Much of it was falling from the sky.
But some of it was also in the waterfalls.
We seem to have taken a selfie from every view point.
The water was high because there had been a lot of rain
But apparently in a real flood those bottom waterfalls disappear altogether.
So it can get a lot higher
Because those lower waterfalls are still really tall.
Water, water everywhere
There was water to drink
But it was expensive
Tourist traps are like that.
The bird park had birds.
It was raining so we couldn’t use a good camera
But they were very friendly.
This is Kerri standing in a bunch of mirrors to trick the flamingos into thinking there was a big flock of flamingos.
This is a scarlet ibis.
The eagle is almost as big as Kerri
This is a black bird
With a funny beak
Which made him funny looking
But not as funny looking as Kerri
The macaws were smarter than us and hid from the rain.
It looked like the Tiki Room
