The Adventures of Kerri & Matt

Matt thinks this is the same bird as the other post.

He probably didn’t notice that there were multiple species of bird in that post

This one is larger and ibisy

Here you can see the itty bitty bird standing behind the big ibisy bird.

There are multiple species of bird in this post too.

The bird in the first picture is not ibisy

And these birds definitely aren’t ibisy

And these aren’t birds at all.

They are crabs.

These volcanos are not made by birds

They are made by snails.

When water gets in their holes they fountain it out, and the wet sand comes with it.

Goodbye.

There were vultures at El Cuco.

They were photogenic.

They did not have babies

But Kerri still took a lot of pictures

Even though they’re not cute

Or even particularly pretty.

But don’t tell them that

I wouldn’t want to be on their bad side.

They hung out at the estuary

Scavenging stuff

We’re not really sure what

Their beaks always seemed to be empty

And they certainly didn’t seem happy

So maybe they weren’t very successful

Which must be frustrating

Even ugly things shouldn’t be hungry

As long as they’re not trying to eat me

A vulture wouldn’t try to eat me would it?

It had snails to peck at.

The sun set in El Cuco

Every night

We took a lot of pictures of it.

Because we needed photographic evidence

That the world was still turning

And spinning

Look, a selfie

This is a sunrise

Which is like a sunset

But backwards

They are harder to see, because you have to be awake.

This is a cute bird

It is looking for snails

To eat

Or maybe small fish

It is definitely a hunter

Even though it is itty bitty

This is a different itty bitty bird

That is also hopping along the shore

Hunting snails

And small fish

There may be more than two kinds of bird in this post

Kerri is way too busy to check

And if she looked it up and told you this was a black beaked brown butted sandpiper

You wouldn’t know what that was

And we’d have to tell you

It’s a small bird that hops along the shore

Eating snails and small fish.
