Between some of the dunes is an old dead marsh.

The dunes moved slowly and cut off its water supply causing it to dry up and become dead.

Leaving an empty patch of dried pale mud.

And a bunch of dead trees, which you can’t really see from the top.

The mud also isn’t as white at it appears from the top. It is very dry.
