This is a wattled jacana

Also known as a Jesus bird

Because it has big feet that make it look like it walks on water.

This is a teenager

His beak is wet from fishing

But it didn’t look like he caught anything.

This is an Ameiva.

Which is a kind of lizard.

They are whiptail lizards, which are mostly known for not having boys

But this species does have boys so it’s boring.

This little one is also a whiptail.

This might be a species that doesn’t have boys, but we’re not sure.

She was digging

Occasionally stopping to look around for danger.

But she didn’t seem to consider Kerri dangerous.

Eventually she caught something, but we’re not sure what.

Then she went away.

Kerri saw a poison dart frog in the Amazon. It was black with bright orange stripes on the side. But it was on the way to the sunrise boat ride. When Kerri got up for the sunrise boat ride, Matt made a noise like “OURRRRNNK” and wouldn’t let Kerri turn on the light. So Kerri was disorganized and forgot her phone. And the camera she had to take pictures was all fogged up from the air conditioning. And the frog hopped away. So there are no pictures. And it’s all Matt’s fault.
Here is a blurry picture of dragonflies from the fogged up camera.

We went fishing.

Kerri had never been fishing before.

Matt caught 3 piranha.

Two little grey ones

And one big red one.

Kerri didn’t understand the exercise and was just feeding the piranha.

She went through way more bait than everyone else. She got several out of the water but none of them into the boat.

We saw a lizard

And a bunch of dolphins

I think these are just grey dolphins

But it’s hard to tell from blurry pictures two months later

This is definitely a grey dolphin because it has a short snout

And I think it has a baby next to it.

Most of the dolphin pictures just have a fin and look like sharks.

We also saw Hoatzin which are really funky dinosaur birds.

Then we went fishing, which you already saw, and then searching for caiman.

We weren’t terribly excited because we’d already seen all the caiman we wanted to see in daylight.

But our guide decided to torture a baby for us anyway.

Poor baby
