There was a mommy and baby seal sleeping.

But no matter where Kerri went, the Mommy was blocking the baby’s face.

Then they turned nose to nose.

Then Mom had to look at some noisy kids.

It’s hard work being a Mom.

You’ve got to keep an eye on everyone.

Then they turned and cuddled and the baby’s face was in the sun.

This is another seal that swam by.

This is a heron that flew by.

Mom opened her eyes for that.

But then she closed them again.

Then she moved and you could see the whole baby!

They looked like a puppy without ears.

That’s because real seals don’t have ears.

Unlike those smelly sea lions.

Seals are mostly blobs.

Very cute blobs.

But their legs aren’t very good on land.

So sometimes they squish their babies!

It’s a rough life being a baby seal.

Bye Mom!

Actually no, wait for me!

Let me give you a kiss.

I don’t want to kiss that end.

Ha ha, now I’m on your tail.

OK, OK, I’ll stop.

Back to napping.

Maybe I can get into trouble while she sleeps.

But Moms are never really sleeping.

OK let’s sleep together.

But Mom’s still keeping an eye on things.
