Capybara are big swimming rodents.
Like everything else in the Pantanal, they are used as a bird perch.
Even when they are on the move.
They don’t seem to care much about this.
They don’t seem to care much about anything.
Except when they’re yawning, then they look angry.
The female capybaras don’t have the ugly blob on their noses.
But the male capybaras do.
It helps them mark their territory.
Must be smelly for the birds.

I noticed a blob on a capybara’s nose in another post, but figured it was either a wart, or it had its front foot on its nose from a funny angle. Now I feel kind of sorry for the male capybaras.
