The Adventures of Kerri & Matt

We went to Monte Alban in the rain

It’s the remains of an old Zapotec site

Which were very fun to visit in the rain

We had the whole place to ourselves

Just us and a little bit of lightning

These stones are called the dancers

They have pictures of men dancing around naked

There were a lot of slippery stone stairs

We decided not to climb a lot of them

So that we didn’t break our necks

It was a big place

Some of them were roped off so no one could climb them anyway

The only picture Matt took of Kerri she is wet in front of some mounds

We drove through the desert

To get to Oaxaca

Where there were more tacos and pinatas

And crickets without chili powder

Matt got a giant taco pizza thing

and was very happy with it.

It was difficult to eat

There was colourful corn above this door.

There is an old aquaduct on this street with colourful banners hung from it

It once fed an old fountain

Matt got a tamale for breakfast wrapped in banana leaf

This is the botanical gardens

Which are quite pretty

This is the courtyard of a monastery that’s now a museum

Apparently about 1/3 of our audience actually likes museum pictures.

So look at these 10,000 year old seeds

And this ancient carving of a half-cyborg. The sign says something about the dual elements of life and death but we know the truth

Something about this gold broach looks like it should be a video game character

This one tells about the order of the Universe, and it puts sports at the top, so we disagree.

This is a really pretty necklace

This skull is encased in turquoise

These are ancient tweezers. You twist a hair into the spiral until it gets stuck.

These are alebrijes

Which inspired the beasts in the movie Coco

But I think the ones in the movie were like this more elaborate one
