Ultralight luxury at its finest, the Offset Duo combines the most sought after tent features with the roomiest interior in its class. The Offset's living space is wider, longer, and has more headroom which is perfect for couples up to 6'6" (198 cm) or for those who wish to spread out.
Designed for hikers looking to take their adventures to the next level, the unmatched internal space of the Offset Duo can accommodate two large tapered 25" sleeping pads and is easily accessed through the wide L shaped zippers found on both sides of the tent.
Featuring zippered storm doors with peak vents to provide extra protection from wind and rain without sacrificing airflow inside the tent, the Offset Duo's storm doors are easy to open and close, allowing you to adjust as needed.
Strong magnetic door toggles, designed to ensure the doors stay rolled up in windy conditions, make it easy to secure the tent and screen doors out of the way without having to fumble with clunky closures.
Just like our flagship Duplex,  the Offset Duo tent is lightweight, roomy, well-ventilated, packs down small, pitches easily, and can be set up in the tightest of spaces. You won’t find a lighter functional two person tent with this much space anywhere on the market.

Features:

  • Constructed from Dyneema Composite Fabric with taped seams to keep water out. Dyneema Composite Fabric is ten times stronger than steel, is naturally waterproof, and is not treated with any potentially harmful chemicals such as flame retardants or water repellents.
  • This tent has fully enclosed ultralight insect netting. The holes in the screen are super tiny and even the smallest insects can not get through.
  • Sets up with two trekking poles or tent poles adjusted to around 48" (122 cm) at the peaks and an included 32" (81 cm) tent pole inserted into two integrated cups at the foot end of the tent. Trekking poles are not included but we have multiple Trekking Pole options to choose from.
  • If you do not use trekking poles, we have tent poles available.
  • The 48” poles are offset towards the head end of the tent creating a wide entryway with an L shaped zipper that drapes to help stop mosquitoes from chasing you into the tent. The offset poles also create a steeper wall with additional headroom.
  • The 32” pole at the foot further expands the best in class internal volume of the Offset Duo by providing copious amounts of foot room for taller hikers. If your partner has a third trekking pole available the 32" tent pole can be left home.
  • The unique pole configuration creates uniform, side to side, headroom which allows two adults to sit up next to each other with plenty of space to change their clothes without touching the walls or ceiling.  The large amount of practical usable space creates a superior user experience for couples when compared to the cramped interior of the steep asymmetrical walls found in other offset tent pole designs.
  • Seven stakes are required for this tent with eight stakes recommended for a taught pitch in windy conditions. Stakes are not included but we have a variety of Ultralight Stakes to choose from.
  • A smaller 53” x 100” (135 x 254 cm) corner to corner footprint allows you to squeeze into those hard to find backcountry flat spots, providing a decisive advantage over comparable asymmetrical designs with larger footprints that require almost 35 to 40% more flat space to properly set up.
  • Pitches just 4" (10 cm) off the ground which reduces drafts while still providing airflow around the perimeter.
  • Both entries feature zippered storm doors. Leave the larger downwind doors open on a nice night for a breeze and great views or close both doors to block cold wind and provide 360 degree rain protection.
  • The large downwind doors can be rolled up and out of the way with magnetic toggles.
  • There’s a screen between the bathtub floor and the walls at the ends of the tent. An adjustable cord keeps the bathtub floor elevated ensuring the screen slopes downward away from the bathtub. Any condensation will run down the walls and out through the downward sloping screens.
  • The tarp overhangs the bathtub floor by 3 inches (7.6 cm) all the way around. In calm rain or under wet trees the downwind doors can be left open for air flow without water dripping or falling into your living space. In almost all conditions at least one door can be left open for air flow.
  • For even better protection with a door open in the rain you can attach the cord at the foot of the bathtub floor to the screen door zipper to pull the screen door inwards away from rain spray.
  • Both sides feature a peak vent to increase air flow and help reduce condensation when the storm doors are closed.
  • Both entries feature a wide L shaped zipper which gives you ample space to get in and out of the tent or to quickly access to the vestibule spaces. The L shape allows the screen door to drape across the entry and reduce the amount of mosquitoes and insects that follow you into the tent. The screen rolls up and can be secured with a dedicated magnet toggle.
  • The two door set up makes it easy to get in and out of the tent without disturbing your partner.
  • This tent has a longer and wider sewn in bathtub floor that is 94” (239 cm) long and measures 50” (127 cm) wide from the head to mid torso before tapering down to 44” (112 cm) at the foot. The bathtub floor has 6" (15 cm) tall walls to keep you protected from groundwater or splash back.
  • The bathtub floor accommodates two large tapered 25” (63.5 cm) wide pads and allows two larger adults to lay side by side. There is plenty of space for two average size hikers to stretch out or, for a single taller hiker up to 6’6” (198 cm) with their gear.
  • The floor also includes integrated trekking pole flaps that allow you to pin down the floor with the tips of your trekking poles, or with 48" tent poles. This prevents the floor from blowing around, and also allows easy one-handed operation of the door zipper.
  • For added durability, the bathtub floor is made with Dyneema Composite Fabric material that is almost twice as thick as the standard canopy material and is more resistant to abrasions and punctures.
  • A separate groundsheet is NOT required for this shelter. The floor material is reasonably durable, and all Dyneema® Composite Fabric gear can be easily patched in the field with repair tape. If you do prefer to use a groundsheet as a precaution, flat groundsheets are available.
  • Inside you’ll find mesh pockets on each side of the tent for storing smaller items like a headlamp, glasses, or phone. This is where you will also find the repair tape that comes standard with all of our tents.
  • Loops at each peak allow you to add our gear nest, hang your headlamp, or string a cord between both loops to hang items inside.
  • Built with high quality YKK #3 zippers on the screen and storm doors. All zippers on the tent have been designed to allow the zippers sliders to easily be replaced in the field. Two replacement sliders are included with the tent.
  • All tie outs feature LineLoc V adjusters and bright yellow Z-Line guylines, allowing you to lock in the perfect pitch.
  • Packs down small and fits in the provided DCF medium plus stuff sack.
  • All of our tents do pretty well in the wind. The material can handle high wind loads. As long as your stakes stay in the ground (use rocks if available) your tent will stay standing. Dyneema® Composite Fabric is not a particularly noisy fabric; however, almost any tent will make a little noise in the wind. Earplugs are not a bad idea for windy nights.
  • All Zpacks gear has a two year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Please see our return/warranty policy.
  • Made in the USA.

You Love Your Child, But Does Your Child Feel Loved?
I rarely read a book from cover to cover twice, but when I was given the opportunity to receive a free copy of the 2012 Edition of The 5 Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell for review, I was eager to do so, particularly since my daughter was so young the first time I read it that I could not determine her love language at the time. To be honest, even with the Love Language Mystery Game to help determine a child's love language, I still cannot be sure of my daughter's even though she is old enough that I should be able to do so. There is nothing wrong with the concepts described in the book, I think it is just that my daughter seems pretty balanced as she receives all five gratefully and gives all five as well, which I believe suggests that her father and I successfully have been keeping her "love tank" full most of the time. The book proposes that as loving as parents may try to be, a child may believe his parents love him, but may not feel loved because the parents are not speaking in the child's love language. While one child may be happy with a gift when the father comes home from a business trip, another child may not feel loved by getting a gift because his love language is quality time. This book helps parents to determine which of the five love languages--physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, or acts of service--a child appreciates and needs the most as well as how the parent can help the child to feel loved. It also stresses that every child needs all five, but one will be predominate. I highly recommend this book for all parents, particularly those who are having difficulties with their children, but it is beneficial even to those who think they have happy, loving children. Probably just as important as understanding how to speak in the child's love language is how to discipline with love without causing damage to the parent-child relationship by using a type of punishment that empties the emotional tank; a chapter is devoted to this subject. If you are like me and have a 1997 Edition, let me explain the main differences I noticed between the two books, besides the change in the cover. The earlier edition often referred to keeping the emotional tank full would help to avoid drug use and teenage promiscuity, which was not in the latest edition. In the 2012 Edition, there were some updated statistics and reference to a book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother by Amy Chua that was published in January 2011. Some of the names in the stories had been changed to more popular names at the time of the rewrite. The most notable addition was the list of suggestions to speak the child's love language at the end of each corresponding chapter. Otherwise, there were only minor editing changes here and there. I did think that the hand print in the heart on the cover of the first edition was a better depiction than the green rubber boots with flowers, but that is a minor point. I received this book for free from Moody Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

I love this book! Helped me with the kids, my parents and my boyfriend.
I bought this book in preparation for becoming a stepmother. Knowing the kids involved had experience some difficulties in their relationship with their biological mother I wanted to make sure I could bring something positive to the table. We have already utilize some of the lessons in this book to ensure that the kids are happy and healthy in the decisions that by boyfriend was making with them on his own. We have also used information provided in this book to help his ex-wife better understand what the right decisions for the kids are to best meet their needs. I have actually sent multiple copies of this book to family members who I feel would benefit from its information. I frequently talk about the love languages of children as it relates to friends family and romantic relationships as well as co-worker or boss employee relationships. I think at this point everyone I know is sick of hearing about this book. I purchased the love languages of teenagers book to prepare for the next stage in the kids lives. I also plan to purchase the love languages for couples book so that my boyfriend and I can learn to communicate even better since we got some helpful information out of this book unexpectedly. I highly recommend reading this book. As a child who did not feel loved by her parents I think it would be important for every parent to read this and have an understanding of the different needs that each child has so that they can show the love that they have in a way that their child can understand.

Favorite treat of all time for our Maltese pup.
Pattern Name: Lollipop, Size: 0.53 Ounce (Pack of 4)
These are my Maltese dog’s favorite treat. I don’t know if it is the whole combination of shape, taster, tendon location, or that they are from a Turkey, but they are an absolute winner when we have them. Since they are quite expensive, we only get them on occasion. If they were less expensive, even by 10%, I would justify regular purchases of them to myself. I highly recommend them for any size, breed, or reason. They are an exceptionally wonderful treat for my pup. I think I have just found the reason for ordering another order of these Turkey Tendon lollipops for my best friend. Especially since he eats them quite quickly, even though he is only four pounds. And they seem to be quite digestible.

Perfect treat for my Dolcé!
Pattern Name: Bone, Size: 0.53 Ounce (Pack of 4)
My 14 pound Maltipoo LOVES these. It keeps her occupied for a good 30 minutes. Be sure to get the bone-shaped ones because little dogs will choke on the lollipop-shaped ones.
