Spherical Bearing Shift Cable Bushings are absolutely the best shifter cable bushings for the MR2. The OEM shifter cables do not move in a true linear fashion. When you install the brass bushings, the natural twist of the cable as it is going through the range of motion is lost. The natural twist is dealt with on the OEM bushings in the rubber material they use which allows the flex in a non linear way... as it should be. The OEM bushings are comprised of rubber and after 25 years are worn out and tired. The shifter bushing kit is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and holds a teflon spherical bearing (not found in other kits). We use custom bushing spacers which provides a greater amount articulation and reduces binding even further over the flat washer alternatives. This is the perfect component to bring your manual shifting experience back to life.
The advantages of these shifter bushings are:
1) proper shift cable articulation
2) advantage of having a bearing to reduce wear on moving parts
3) no rubber to wear out
4) no metal to wear out
5) 100% positive shift engagement
Spherical shifter bushing kit includes: spherical shifter bushings, washers and retaining clips.

1985-1989 MR2 with some modification of washers / spacers
1991-1999 MR2 PLUG AND PLAY
2000-2005 MR2 with some modification of washers / spacers (see note below)

Installation tips from my customer for the 2000-2005 MR2 - the short washer/spacer was a tad big and the larger one was too big for both locations. I ground it down and sanded everything with 600 grit to smooth everything out and it all fit perfectly.
