1930s bias cut dress Stunning 1930s Bias Cut Soft Peach Pink Silk Lingerie Dress w Floral D – Shrimpton CoutureThis is a lovely piece of lingerie. It is just incredible when you look at it from the view point of all the hand work that would have been done to make this piece. If you were to try to buy new lingerie at this same level of construction it would be at an insane price, if you could even find anyone to doing it never mid find this quality of silk anymore. This is a lovely piece of lingerie. It is just incredible when you look at it from the view point of all the hand work that would have been done to make this piece. If you were to try to buy new lingerie at this same level of construction it would be at an insane price, if you could even find anyone to doing it never mid find this quality of silk anymore. The gown is made out of a peach pink silk that is very feminine in feel. It is completely cut on the bias and this makes the dress have incredible movement and drape over the body. It is like magic as it glides over you. The silk is fairly opaque so you could wear this out as a dress if you wished. The front plunges in a V and the back is slit down the middle. It has high set capped flutter sleeves that are just darling. The waist nips in slightly and the skirt flares out quite extensively under that. The bias cut lets it cling to the body but without being uncomfortable in any way. The sweetest little daisy print is one in a way that it has a hand painted feel and they completely cover the dress. It is in amazing condition and looks to have been worn very little if at all. It is also very ling which is a hard to find thing for pieces from this time period. Excellent condition

Unlined and slips on to wear. The waist has no opening so you have to be able to get the waist past your shoulders to get it on. That said, it would be fairly easy to open a side seam and add snaps so that it is easier to get into. Hand finished throughout and a truly amazing example of the work done for lingerie during this time period. The fabric is cut on the bias so will come up a bit in length once on an actual body. The bias cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

Bust: 15-21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 13-15" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 18-21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 14" from top of bodice to waist
Skirt: 48" from waist to hem

Modern Sizing Equivalent: SML-LRG

Successfully bridging the gap between Bible Study Guide and Graduate level hermeneutics
Format: Hardcover
As the tag line of my review suggests, this book is more than just another Bible study guide, but not a Graduate level text on hermeneutics. That is the stated goal of the authors, and I do believe they achieved that goal very successfully. I am not a trained theologian. I am just a Christian layman who wants to understand how to properly interpret the Word of God, using a systematic approach that is consistent and faithful to the Reformed Protestant traditions. This book is helping me get there, as long as I am ready to put in the work that comes with the content. I'll let the authors themselves describe what they mean by that... "Plunging into the Word of God is similar to sitting down at a meal. We expect to eat something nourishing, something substantial, and something appropriate to our maturity level. We want to dig into the real meat. But often we are able only to come up with baby food—soft mush for infants. This is not a reflection on the Word of God, which is loaded with meat, but rather a reflection on us and our inability to extract the meat and enjoy it. Indeed, some Christians have become so accustomed to baby food that they no longer desire the stronger food. What about you? Do you long to dig deeper into God’s Word? Do you long for a more substantial diet? Our goal in this book is to help you to 'eat well.' ... God wants to have deeper and more mature conversations with you, but if you are tied to superficial and surface readings of the Bible or if you always assume that you have already seen and understood all there is, then your relationship with God will tend to stay at the same level. ... If you want to hear and understand some of the deep and wonderful truths that God has placed in Scripture for you—if you desire to pull out of God’s Word some of the serious 'meat' he has placed there for us to sink our teeth into—you will have to exert considerable effort. It takes work—hard work! And you, the reader, have to decide whether you are content with shallow 'baby food' that comes from casual reading or you want to work for the 'mature food' that comes from serious reading." Duvall, J. Scott; Hays, J. Daniel. Grasping God's Word, Fourth Edition: A Hands-On Approach to Reading, Interpreting, and Applying the Bible (pp. 37-38). Zondervan Academic. "But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil." - Heb. 5:14 Semper Reformanda

Highly Recommended
Format: Hardcover
If you are interested in rightly interpreting the Bible I highly recommend this book! It is easy to read and understand. It has "assignments" for each chapter to practice what you've read. It takes you step-by-step on the methodology used by theologians to understand the meaning of scriptures in context, letting scripture interpret scripture. Excellent book!

Grasping God’s Word
Format: Kindle
This book opened my eyes and mind in studying God’s Word. I appreciated the breakdown by genre, and the steps to help me ‘grasp’ God’s word. It has helped me in my private devotion time.
