This is one of a dozen dresses from a single owner collection of beautiful 1930s dresses and I am very pleased to have this small capsule for you. Her collection was lovingly sourced over decades and she has decided that it is time let them back out into the world for others to enjoy. Outstanding designs from this era are increasingly hard to find. Her collection represents some of the best of the era that I have seen in a very long time. Most are in excellent condition and the few included in the capsule that do have some flaws are such outstanding designs that I feel there is still room for someone to love them and wear them as they are, or perhaps to put in the additional work to repair them. This is just a tiny sampling of her overall collection and I hope to have another series of these capsules in the future. Enjoy this first drop.

This is a stunning dress made of an early hammered silk satin that is completely cut on the bias. The fabric alone is something you will never see in today's modern fabric production. It has this subtle texture to it and is absolutely incredible to see in person. This would make an amazing dress for a bride looking for an alternative to a modern wedding dress. It would of course also work for any event. The dress has no closures, it just simply slips over the head and drapes into place. The silk immediately will mold to your curves as it drapes and skims down the body from bust to hips. As it nears the hem it flares out beautifully. I love that the light colour really lets you see the extraordinary and intricate seaming that the dress has through the body. The front dips into a V and the back has subtle gatherings. This one also comes with a light and easy jacket with caped sleeves and that is made of the same silk as the dress. You can wear it over the dress with the front extensions hanging softly or tie them in a soft knot at the front. It also comes with its original belt that has a pretty silver metal buckle. The feel of the dress changes dramatically whether you wear it on its own with just the jacket, just the belt, or with all three pieces combined. I love that because it just gives you more options on how you're able to wear it. This one is an absolute beauty. Excellent overall condition with a small note below.

Unlined and slips on to wear and cut on the bias. All the inner seams are finished by hand. I see a small repair on the back of the waist that is covered where the belt is on. The belt has a slight feel of grubbiness compared to the other two pieces and some of the rhinestones are missing off of the buckle.  There is very minor darkening under the arm seams. Please see the last four photos here. For a garment almost 100 years old it is in amazing condition. The bias should allow it to fit a range of sizes.

Dress
Bust: 14-21" flat across from side seam to side seam
Waist: 12-20" flat across from side seam to side seam
Hips: 14-22" flat across from side seam to side seam
Length: 60" from top of shoulder to hem

Jacket
Its open cut should allow it to work on anyone the dress fits
Bust-bottom seam: to 20" flat across from side seam to side seam
Length: 17" from neck to back hem

Modern Sizing Equivalent: XS-LRG

¿Snake oil? At least it worked for me
Style: Modifier, Style: Modifier
Very cheap compared to buying it locally, here in my country. Used the Ceratec with the Leuchtlauf High Tech oil. 143K miles on my 2.5 mk6 Jetta. It started to make some tappet/lifters noise, very minimal but it was there. As soon as I started the engine, and about 30 minutes in , I could clearly hear the difference. How I heard the difference? With the hood closed now I can barely hear the engine, unless I put my ear close to the grille. Now I only hear the working injectors. Totally recommended. Can’t speak about gas consumption, I’ll have to drive 500-1000 miles to speak confidently. Recommended for giving older engines a longer lifespan. Update: After 15 days or so, and about 150-200miles later, I noticed my Jetta’s engine feels lighter and smoother. No placebo effect, it’s just there. Since I bought two Ceratec bottles, I used the second bottle on a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with the Mivec 2.0 engine. These engines are quite noisy, specially the injection noises, and I had a very concerning lifters ticking. I did my oil change yesterday, and today the ticking is gone, all I did was use Liquimolys engine flush, Valvoline oil and the Ceratec. I’ll post an update if I get better fuel economy and smoothness on my Mitsu.

Durable and well fitting
Durable and well fitting. I drive a Honda Accord 2014 and when the under engine covers started falling off I used these to replace the ones that came off. They work well and the prying tool made replacing the retainers easier.
