It snaps onto the portafilter and doesn't budge. WDT’s Best Friend: It provides the necessary height to use a WDT tool without making a mess. Low Profile: Unlike some "tall" funnels, this one is compact enough to fit under many grinder dispensers while still attached to the portafilter. Premium Finish: The matte black anodized aluminum feels incredibly durable and matches high-end espresso gear perfectly. The Not-So-Good: Price Point: It is definitely a premium option. You can find plastic versions for less, but they won't have the same weight or magnetic security. Pro Tips: Maintenance: This is anodized metal; do not put it in the dishwasher. Just wipe it with a dry cloth or a dedicated coffee brush. Magnet Care: Keep the bottom magnets clean. If coffee oils or grounds build up on the magnets, the "snap" won't feel as secure. I've been stubborn about buying a funnel - yet another coffee tool to simplify and optimize, right? But, it really does reduce the mess when using the WDT tool. The magnets are quite good, a different brand funnel (with magnets) wouldn't even stick to my portafilter. The fit is OK - it does slide around on my 58mm basket if I move the funnel. But, that hasn't been an issue because the magnets keep it in place. The shape is also a bit more tasteful than most of the generic funnels. Oh, and beware - if you're grinding directly into your portafilter basket (hands-free), the funnel may not fit into your grinder's portafilter-holder. This was the case with my DF54 grinder. Overall, I'd say it was worth the extra ~$4 USD over generic competitors.
