The Thick Leaf Straminea is a show stopper for sure and, as a grower, one of my favorite Tillandsia. These plants are natural clumpers and active propagators. They have much thicker leaves than other Straminea. Their leaves are fuzzy and light green. What makes this plant really special is that it is one of the only air plants that produce a fragrant bloom. The bloom is violet and lasts a longer than most Tillandsia. These plants grow very large. They need a hanging basket or prop as the leaves grow long and down. Please be aware the bottom leaves get dry. If this is bothersome simply remove those leaves. The leaves are also subject to easy breakage so most plants will come with some minor breakage on the leaves. Again these leaves can simply be removed or cut to your preference.

These plants are low maintenance, making them a great choice for people who are new to indoor plants.

They need regular daily indirect or filtered sunlight (so fine for desks, shelves, bathrooms or bedrooms). A weekly water is all they require - although you can always give them a mist in between if they look a little dry.

Air plants prefer regular air circulation, so we suggest open terrariums rather than the kind with lids.
