Keeping your moss pole moist is now just a matter of dumping a cup of water into the top of your pole every time you see the moss begin to change colour (lighten as it dries), and the slow drip will rehydrate from the top down, with the moisture spreading via capillary action.

It is essential to keep your soil from getting oversaturated, something that can happen quite easily if you are constantly adding water to an over dry moss that cant absorb it quickly. The cap has a pin-sized hole in the bottom that will drip at a slow and regular rate, perfect for even a single section moss pole; if you have an extremely long moss pole and want to speed up water consumption, you can add more holes with a very thin needle or pin. Keep the water dripping freely by cleaning out the tiny holes, again with a pin or needle, to prevent clogs from minerals in the water.
