As our experienced deepened over the years, our desires around the perfect inorganic medium has changed slightly. Starting Spring 2025 we are pleased to announce that we have made some slight changes to our inorganic medium. All of the components are the same as our old mix, but they are different in a few key ways that we feel are more tailored to rare succulents.

What has changed? Glad you asked! Our previous medium was compromised of three components-- monto clay, calcined clay and 1/4" pine fines. Not everyone loves pine-- we get that! This formula has our classic base, monto clay and calcined clay, without the pine.

In our 'Less Dust' formula all of our calcined clay comes from the same region and is washed and screened to have less dust. In our classic formula some of the calcined clay comes from a different region and produces a little more dust.

Why forgo the pine? In hotter regions pine is not always preferred and some folks prefer to fertilize with liquid fertilizer rather than biological components. If you would like an excellent liquid fertilizer click here and we suggest you use that around your succulents (not directly on your plants) every two months.

The clay products are the same, they are still baked at high temperatures to ward off any bacteria, however they are a smaller grain-- which gives you even more surface area of the crucial moisture wicking components.

Our retail customers have been loving this new blend and we're so happy to be offering it online as well.

Succulent Medium #4 contains: 50% Calcined clay, 50% Monto Clay. This soil is bagged in-house weekly and has not been sitting on a shelf, it is fresh and dry.

We are also happy to announce that we'll have four different versions of inorganic medium to choose from, based on your specific and regional needs. And we've also worked very hard to reduce both retail and our shipping charges. Our prices have never been better for small bags of inorganic soil! Prices are drastically lower now that we are making our blend in-house and you can add up to a gallon of soil with no additional shipping charge to an outgoing order!

See our new 2025 Shipping Rates here:

-2.5 quarts (first bag ships free if you have an existing order. Soil-only shipping is $14)

-1 gallon (first bag ships free if you have an existing order. Soil-only shipping is $14)

-4 gallons ($24 flat rate, even if you have an existing order. This is due to weight and your soil may ship separately from you succulents).

*please note our cloth bags hold more than a gallon. In the past we've filled these bags to capacity, which created problems with soil spilling out in the box. We will not overfill our bags moving forward, they will contain exactly one gallon each and should ship cleaner. (One gallon is still a full bag, but it is not so full that it is spilling out of the drawstring top).

Life Skills You Were Never Taught
Format: Paperback
I have never felt so seen and heard by Dr. Gibson. This book has truly been life altering for me. The lessons in this book have helped me become a confident leader and a more stable, happy, and kind person. I understand myself so much better than before, and now see how my upbringing has affected me into adulthood. The valuable lessons in this amazing book are easy to understand and implement in everyday life. Lessons are categorized and laid out in a very easy to read and retain way. I also have the audiobook and love to follow along and highlight passages. The hearing of the kind words in this book is so healing for me, and I highly recommend it. I feel motivated by this material each time I see it. Thank you so much, Dr. Gibson, for you dedication to this topic. It has sincerely changed my life for the better.

Therapist recommended
Format: Paperback
My therapist recommended this book, and I can already see why. It’s incredibly validating and insightful. It really helped me understand so many of my feelings and behaviors in a way I hadn't before. The exercises and practical advice are so helpful and feel very grounded. It's a must-read if you're working through this kind of stuff. I’m so grateful my therapist told me about it.

Great book for direction on how to help yourself!
Format: Kindle
This book, written for (as the title suggests) adult children of emotionally immature (EI) parents, provide wonderful insights into the psychology of EI people. Regardless of the emotional level of your parents, these books are a must-read for everyone. Why? Gibson kindly and directly delivers clear insights into EI behavior, which applies to any adult in your life. Self-Care for Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents: Honor Your Emotions, Nurture Your Self, and Live with Confidence, deals with caring for yourself in ongoing relationships with EI people. These techniques are grouped by where and when you may encounter EI people to use the book as a reference guide. If you are close to someone who exhibits EI behaviors, you can flip to that section. If you work with EI people, there's a section for coworkers. This book focuses on how you nurture yourself and your identity once you've worked on healing from childhood trauma. Gibson does a superb job of sharing direct context about EI people. She pulls no punches about EI people's damage but gives space to encourage growth and break the multi-generational trauma.
