Bring natural elegance and low-maintenance greenery into your home with this Air Plant Mix (6 Pack) — a carefully curated selection of Tillandsia species, each with its own unique form, texture, and colour. Perfect for terrariums, glass globes, mounted displays, or creative arrangements, these fascinating plants require no soil and thrive on air, light, and occasional misting.

Each 6-pack contains a beautiful variety of air plants chosen for contrast and balance — featuring species such as Tillandsia ionantha, T. caput-medusae, T. brachycaulos, T. bulbosa, and other seasonal favourites (varieties may vary depending on availability). Some plants display silvery trichomes for a soft, frosted look, while others have bright green or red tones that intensify with good light. Many will even produce small, colourful blooms at maturity.

Compact, resilient, and endlessly versatile, this Air Plant Mix is ideal for creative displays — perfect for beginners, collectors, and anyone seeking a modern, low-fuss plant arrangement.

Air Plant Mix (6 Pack) – Care Guide

Light

Provide bright, indirect light. A bright windowsill, terrarium near natural light, or a well-lit shelf is ideal. Avoid harsh, direct sunlight for extended periods, which can dry out or scorch the leaves.

Watering

Mist the plants 2–3 times per week, or soak them in room-temperature water for 15–20 minutes once a week. Shake off excess water and allow them to dry completely before placing back into displays to prevent rot. In winter or cooler conditions, water less frequently.

Temperature and Humidity

  • Temperature: Prefers warmth, 18–28°C. Avoid exposure below 10°C.

  • Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity (50–80%). Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, or grouped with other tropical plants.

Air Circulation

Good air movement is essential. Do not enclose air plants in sealed containers for long periods — they need airflow to stay healthy and prevent rot.

Feeding

Feed monthly in spring and summer with a diluted bromeliad or air plant fertiliser mixed into your misting water to support growth and flowering.

Display Ideas

Air plants can be displayed in almost endless ways — place them in glass terrariums, driftwood mounts, decorative shells, hanging macramé holders, or minimalist ceramic bowls. They’re equally at home on desks, windowsills, or bathroom shelves.

Growth and Maturity

Each air plant will grow and change shape over time. Mature specimens often produce small pups (offsets) that can be separated once large enough, allowing you to expand your collection easily.

Common Issues

  • Dry, curling leaves: Underwatering or too much direct sunlight.

  • Soft, brown base: Overwatering or poor airflow.

  • Faded colour: Insufficient light.

Background and Benefits

Tillandsia species are native to the forests, mountains, and deserts of Central and South America. As epiphytes, they grow on trees or rocks, absorbing moisture and nutrients through their specialised leaves. Their sculptural forms and minimal care needs make them perfect for modern homes, offering both beauty and simplicity.

Rope comes out at the slightest force. Pointless tug toy!
Color: Four colors, Size: 6cm (with rope)
If your dog pulls on these (and why wouldn’t he?), the rope immediately comes out. Turns out they just fuse the ends of the nylon rope together, which is no match for a dog playing tug. Any dog, any level of pulling will dismantle these. We’ve managed to reinsert the rope to a couple of these and KNOT it, which gives you a shorter rope but a toy that can withstand some play. But if I had wanted a DIY toy, I’d have used the balls and rope I already own.

Not for super chewers!
Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope), Color: Four colors, Size: 5cm (with rope)
These rope ball toys arrived today. My poodle puppy loves rope ball toys and playing tug of war. These didn’t last 10 minutes. For context, she is 1 y.o., 30 lbs., is not teething & has her adult teeth. She did this on her own- we were not playing tug of war at the time the toy fell apart. At least there are 3 more in the package & when the rope is done, we’ll still have the balls to play with.

Perfect for Blind Dogs, Fun and Durable
Size: 2-pack, Style: Duo
My blind dog loves these Chuckit! sniff balls. She can easily sniff them out and plays fetch with them for 20 minutes a day, even running up and down the stairs. The balls are durable, bounce well, and the bacon and peanut butter scent keeps her engaged. I do wish Chuckit! would bring back the version with a tone so we could play fetch outside more easily. Overall, a fantastic toy for dogs that rely on scent and a fun way to keep them active.

My Golden Loves
Size: 2-pack, Style: Duo
My 8 month old Golden Retriever loves these. It is also one of the few products she cannot destroy. They smell as described and she loves to chew them and play fetch when. She can chew these easily without destroying them. Overall good value for the money for my Golden
