Native to Southeast Asia, Aglaonema species are known for their tolerance of lower light and their steady, slow-growing nature. "Kamraithong" does best in bright indirect light, which brings out the richest coloration, but it will tolerate medium light happily.
Avoid direct sun, which can scorch its delicate leaves. Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy—these plants dislike wet feet. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, and reduce watering in cooler months. It thrives in a chunky, well-draining potting mix (something like an aroid mix is perfect) and appreciates warmth and humidity, though it will still do well in average home conditions.
Kamraithong is a widely used trade name in Southeast Asia for this colorful Aglaonema cultivar. It is not a formally registered name, but is commonly recognized in the horticultural trade.
