Fragaria x ananassa Toscana Strawberry

Fragaria x ananassa Toscana Strawberry is a vigorous, award-winning perennial, valued for its spectacular deep rose blossoms and heavy yields of sweet fruit. Growing to about 8 to 12 inches tall with trailing runners spreading 12 to 24 inches, this variety is perfect for hanging baskets, patio pots, and strawberry jars where both culinary utility and ornamental beauty are desired. Unlike standard, white-flowered strawberries, Toscana produces large, vibrant pink blooms continuously throughout the season, bridging the gap between a decorative bedding plant and a productive fruit crop.

Culinary and Practical Uses

  • The juicy, medium-sized, conical red berries are intensely sweet and produced in abundance (up to 2 lbs per plant), ideal for fresh snacking, jams, and desserts.
  • The stunning deep rose flowers are edible and make a sophisticated, colorful garnish for summer salads, cocktails, and pastries.
  • Perfectly suited for "edible landscaping," serving as a lush, flowering groundcover or a cascading feature in vertical gardens.

Characteristics

  • Foliage: Glossy, dark green leaves that remain lush throughout the season; the vigorous runners create a cascading effect perfect for elevated containers.
  • Growth Habit: Mounding and trailing ever bearer that produces runners easily; fills out baskets quickly and produces fruit on both the mother plant and the runners.
  •  Flowers: Produces large, showy, deep rose-pink blossoms from late spring until the first frost, which are highly attractive to bees and butterflies.
  •  Seeds: F1 Hybrid seeds that offer high germination rates and vigorous growth; seeds are tiny and require light to germinate.

Growing Requirements

  • Sun: Thrives in full sun; requires at least 6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily to ensure the flowers retain their vibrant color and the fruit ripens fully.
  • Soil: Adapts to most potting mixes but prefers fertile, well-draining, slightly acidic soil rich in organic matter.
  • Water: Requires consistent, moderate watering; containers should be checked daily in summer to prevent the soil from drying out completely.
  • Spacing: Plant seeds or transplants 12 to 18 inches apart to allow for vigorous lateral spread and runner development.
  • Maintenance: Feed frequently with a high-potash fertilizer to support the continuous flowering; remove older runners if a tidy habit is preferred, or let them trail for a lush look.

This is my second time using this oil to service my 2022 Mercury 90 outboard. Excellent oil! Engine runs extremely smooth. The jug was very easy to pour from. No smoke from the engine.

Honestly how do you write a review of this product? I would have to run tests for years on multiple oils on various engines to do so. The value was good however and shipping was great

Works well. You need to drill a 3/8” hole
Appears to be well made, alignment bar slides in nicely. As stated, you need to drill a hole in the bar for the gimble bearing driver, the directions are not clear, what I did was before I take out the old gimble bearing, put an O ring on the bar close to the last step on the bar, slide the bar all the way in, then carefully slide the bar out, this marks the distance from the back of the gimble bearing to where the shaft on the outdrive bottoms out, move the O ring a 1/4” towards the stepped part of the alignment tool (this is so you won’t bottom out the alignment tool when driving the gimble bearing in) then slide the driver puck up to the O ring and use a 3/8” diameter transfer punch through the side hole in the puck to mark the bar. You need to drill a 3/8” diameter hole in the alignment bar, two V blocks, some clamps, and a drill press will make drilling much easier, after the bar is securely mounted and centered in the drill press, use a center drill, then 1/4” drill first, using plenty of oil, drill all the way through, then use the 3/8” drill, deburr both sides and you should be good to go. People complain that it doesn’t come pre-drilled, the reason is that not all out drives are the same so you have to fit it to the outdrive that you have. Fortunately, I have a machine shop at my house and have a jig setup with various drill bushings, but the method I described above should work for you. Just make sure you’re perfectly centered and secure before you start drilling.
