Dracaena Reflexa is your perfect plant companion! With over 100 varieties in the Dracaena family, this beautiful plant (also known as Pleomele) brings a touch of natural warmth and vibrant color to any space in your home or office.

Those gorgeous, thick green leaves grow closely together on elegant slender stalks, creating a lush indoor tree that transforms your space beautifully.

Care

Do Dracaena Reflexa like full sun or shade?

Dracaena Reflexa prefers the middle ground when it comes to light. These plants thrive in bright, indirect light where they can enjoy filtered sunshine without experiencing leaf burn or scorching. We recommend an east or north-facing window for ideal conditions.

If your space has lower light, don't worry—your Dracaena Reflexa will still grow, though perhaps a bit more slowly with less vibrant foliage. Too much direct sunlight can damage those beautiful leaves, so we'll help you find that perfect spot where your plant will feel right at home.

Can I put my potted Dracaena Reflexa outside?

Your Dracaena Reflexa can certainly enjoy some fresh air during warmer months, but only in a protected spot away from direct sunlight, strong winds, and temperature extremes. These tropical beauties prefer temperatures between 65-80°F for optimal growth and health.

We strongly recommend bringing your plant back indoors before temperatures drop below 55°F. Dracaena Reflexa isn't built for cold weather—it's a warmth-loving tropical plant that needs protection from chilly conditions. We're always here to help you create the perfect environment for your plant to thrive year-round.

How often should you water a Dracaena Reflexa?

Water your Dracaena Reflexa when the top two inches of soil feel dry to the touch (usually every 10-14 days, depending on humidity levels and the season). Slight leaf drooping is its gentle way of asking for a drink.

During winter months, your plant will naturally need less water as its growth slows down. We always recommend checking the soil before watering rather than following a strict schedule—every plant and environment is unique, and we want to help you develop a caring relationship with your Dracaena that responds to its individual needs.

Do Dracaena Reflexa like to be misted?

Dracaena Reflexa appreciates occasional misting, especially in drier indoor environments. Native to tropical Madagascar, these plants naturally enjoy higher humidity levels, though they're quite adaptable. A gentle misting a few times a week can help recreate their preferred environment.

For extra humidity, consider placing your plant near (but not in) your bathroom after hot showers. We care about creating the perfect balance—avoid soaking the leaves completely, as this can lead to issues. Just a light mist is all your Dracaena needs to stay happy and healthy in your care.

Can Dracaena Reflexa get too much sun?

Absolutely—Dracaena Reflexa leaves can easily become damaged with too much direct sunlight. They naturally grow under the dappled light of larger trees in their native habitat, so they're not adapted to intense, direct sun exposure that can burn delicate leaves.

If you notice brown, crispy edges or bleached spots appearing on the foliage, we'd recommend moving your plant to a location with bright but filtered light. We care deeply about helping your plants thrive, and finding that perfect light balance is essential for keeping your Dracaena Reflexa looking its best for years to come.

Where is the best place to plant a Dracaena Reflexa?

The ideal location for your Dracaena Reflexa is near an east or north-facing window where it gets that gentle morning light or consistent bright indirect light throughout the day. It’s perfect for bringing tropical vibes to those slightly darker corners.

We've found that Dracaena Reflexa makes a wonderful statement piece in living rooms, offices, or bedrooms where it can be admired without being exposed to harsh conditions. Their vertical growth habit means they don't take up much floor space while still making a significant visual impact—perfect for enhancing any room in your home.

Is Dracaena Reflexa high maintenance?

Dracaena Reflexa care is refreshingly straightforward, making it perfect for both first-time plant parents and experienced enthusiasts. These resilient plants will forgive occasional neglect and don't require constant attention to thrive in your home or office environment.

The most important aspect of caring for your Dracaena is avoiding overwatering—these plants prefer their soil on the drier side, and consistently soggy conditions can lead to root problems. We're committed to supporting you throughout your plant journey, helping you provide just the right amount of care to keep your Dracaena Reflexa thriving for years.

How often do you re-pot a Dracaena Reflexa?

Re-pot your Dracaena Reflexa every 2-3 years, or when you notice roots beginning to circle the pot's bottom or emerging from drainage holes. These plants actually prefer being slightly root-bound and don't require frequent repotting to remain healthy and vibrant.

When the time comes for a new home, we recommend selecting a container just 1-2 inches larger than the current pot, using a well-draining potting mix, and ensuring proper drainage. We're always here to help you through the repotting process, making it stress-free for both you and your plant companion.

Can I put my Dracaena Reflexa outside in summer?

Your Dracaena Reflexa can certainly enjoy a summer retreat outdoors, as long as temperatures remain above 55°F and it’s protected from direct sunlight, strong winds, and heavy rain. A shaded patio or covered porch creates the perfect summer sanctuary.

We recommend gradually introducing your plant to outdoor conditions over a week or two, which helps prevent shock from sudden environmental changes. Just as we care for you through every step of plant parenthood, remember to care for your Dracaena by bringing it back indoors before temperatures cool in the fall.

What are the best fertilizers for Dracaena Reflexa?

Dracaena Reflexa appreciates a light approach to feeding—these plants don't require heavy fertilization to thrive. We recommend using a balanced, water-soluble houseplant fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength for optimal results without the risk of nutrient burn.

Feed your plant monthly during spring and summer when active growth occurs, and allow it to rest during fall and winter months. We believe in nurturing plants gently—in our experience, under-fertilizing is always safer than over-fertilizing for Dracaena plants, which can be sensitive to excess nutrients.

Pet-friendly?

The Dracaena Reflexa is not pet-friendly and should be kept out of reach of both cats and dogs. These plants contain compounds that can cause digestive upset, drooling, and other symptoms if ingested by your furry family members.

Is the Dracaena Reflexa safe for dogs?

Unfortunately, Dracaena Reflexa contains compounds that are toxic to dogs if ingested. These can cause vomiting, excessive drooling, and digestive upset in your canine companions, so we strongly recommend keeping this plant out of reach of curious pups.

We care about all members of your family—if you have dogs with a tendency to investigate plants, we'd suggest placing your Dracaena on elevated surfaces, in rooms your pets don't access, or considering one of the many pet-friendly alternatives we can recommend. Your pet's safety is just as important to us as your plant's health.

Is the Dracaena Reflexa poisonous to cats?

Dracaena Reflexa is toxic to cats and should be kept in areas they cannot access. The plant contains saponins that can cause digestive upset, drooling, vomiting, and even dilated pupils if your feline friend decides to nibble on it.

We understand that creating a harmonious environment for both your plants and pets can be challenging. If you have curious cats who tend to sample your greenery, we'd be happy to suggest safer plant options or help you design a space where your Dracaena can thrive while remaining out of your cat's reach.

Factoids

Can I put coffee grounds in my Dracaena Reflexa plant?

While recycling is wonderful, we don't recommend adding coffee grounds directly to your Dracaena Reflexa's soil. Coffee grounds can create excessive acidity and potentially lead to fungal issues that might harm your plant's delicate root system over time.

If you're interested in recycling your morning brew, we suggest adding a small amount of diluted, cooled, and unsweetened coffee to your watering can once a month instead. We care about sustainable practices and would be happy to share other safe, natural ways to nurture your plants without risking their health.

How long does a Dracaena Reflexa plant last?

With proper care and attention, your Dracaena Reflexa can be a faithful green companion for 10-15 years or even longer! These remarkable plants are known for their longevity and become cherished members of your home for many years to come.

We've seen Dracaena specimens thrive for decades, developing into magnificent statement pieces that grow alongside their caretakers through life's many changes. By providing consistent, appropriate care, your Dracaena Reflexa can become a living heirloom that brings joy and beauty to your space for many years.

Does a Dracaena Reflexa plant purify air?

Yes! Beyond their beauty, Dracaena Reflexa plants actively help clean your indoor air. NASA research has shown that Dracaena varieties can help remove common household toxins like formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene, contributing to a healthier living environment.

While a single plant won't purify an entire home, your Dracaena Reflexa is quietly working to improve your air quality while serving as a stunning visual element. We believe in the power of plants to enhance our wellbeing in multiple ways—just another reason we're passionate about helping you incorporate more greenery into your life.

Is a Dracaena Reflexa an annual or perennial?

Dracaena Reflexa is a perennial plant that will continue growing year after year with proper care. Unlike annuals that complete their lifecycle in a single season, your Dracaena is in it for the long haul, providing ongoing beauty and enjoyment.

In its native tropical habitat, Dracaena Reflexa grows as an evergreen perennial, maintaining its foliage year-round. As a houseplant, it maintains this perennial nature, growing steadily over time and developing more character and presence as it matures—a relationship built to last through many seasons together.

What is the lifespan of a Dracaena Reflexa?

Your Dracaena Reflexa can thrive for 10-15 years or more with attentive care, making it one of the more enduring houseplants you can welcome into your home. Some specimens have been known to live for decades, becoming true family treasures.

We love helping plant parents develop long-term relationships with their green companions. The Dracaena's slow, steady growth contributes to its impressive lifespan—it's not racing to complete a short lifecycle but rather developing gradually into a stunning mature specimen that can bring joy to your space for many years.

What is the spiritual meaning of the Dracaena Reflexa plant?

In many cultures, Dracaena Reflexa is thought to bring prosperity, good fortune, and positive energy. The plant's upright growth and vibrant foliage are believed to attract abundance and success into homes and workspaces, creating an uplifting atmosphere.

In Feng Shui practices, Dracaena plants are thought to help purify energy and create harmony in your space. Whether or not you connect with these spiritual aspects, we believe there's something genuinely uplifting about sharing your environment with this beautiful, living plant that brings natural vitality into your daily life.

Is Dracaena Reflexa a good luck plant?

Many people consider the Dracaena Reflexa to be a powerful good luck charm for homes and offices. Across various cultural traditions, these plants are thought to attract prosperity, abundance, and positive energy to the spaces where they grow and thrive.

The plant's upward growth pattern is often viewed as a symbol of rising fortune and progress. Whether you embrace these traditional beliefs or simply appreciate the beauty of your Dracaena, we're committed to helping you nurture a healthy, vibrant plant that enhances your space in both tangible and intangible ways.

Does Dracaena Reflexa smell good?

Unlike flowering plants that tend to release fragrances, your Dracaena Reflexa is pleasantly scent-neutral. It will look gorgeous in your home without competing with your favorite candle, the delicious bread you’re baking, or your own personal fragrance.

The only time you might notice any scent is if the soil remains too wet for too long, which could indicate overwatering. We're always here to help you maintain the perfect balance of moisture for your Dracaena, ensuring it remains a beautiful, odor-free addition to your home environment.

Why is Dracaena Reflexa called “dragon”?

The name "Dracaena" comes from the Greek word "drakaina," meaning female dragon. This intriguing name was inspired by the red resin that some species in this plant family produce when cut, which was thought to resemble dragon's blood.

While your Dracaena Reflexa doesn't typically produce this dramatic resin, it's still part of this mythically-named plant family. If you’re getting Game of Thrones withdrawal symptoms, then this plant could make you feel like the Mother of Dragons!

A big bang for your buck!
Style: Standard, Color: Pink, Style: Standard, Color: Pink
I waited a while to review. I wanted to see how they did overtime. These are amazing for the price. The sound is crisp and clear and even can go extremely loud if that's your thing. They fit comfortably in my ear and are durable (I've dropped them a few times). The case holds a charge for a long time they connect to Bluetooth with no problems. I only gave 4 stars because there is a slight delay when you tap the ear buds to change functions. It's also a small spot to touch and sometimes I find myself having to tap it a few times to find the right spot to turn on/off, turn volume up, change songs, etc. These are simple with great sound and an amazing price. If you're a sound connoisseur and want a equalizer board to work with these aren't for you. I have expensive Jabra ear buds and find I use these more. They fit better and I don't worry about losing them.

Great quality
Style: Standard, Color: Forest Green
Very surprised at the quality of these headphones. They’re comfortable in the ear and have very clear sound quality and great volume. They’re easy to set up and the ear bud is just the right size to sit comfortably. Settings are easy to adjust and the battery life is great. I will say the color doesn’t match to the display image, they’re a lot darker green, but that’s not really an issue. I just wanted to get a colorful pair to make them distinct from others. These are a great budget ear bud!!

These Budget Earbuds Actually Impressed My Wife (and Our Wallet)
Style: Standard, Color: Ocean Blue
We’re retired and try to be smart with money, so when my wife wanted a pair of wireless earbuds for her daily walks and audiobook listening, I wasn’t about to drop $150+ on a big name brand. After researching, I took a chance on these TAGRY earbuds and I’m honestly glad I did. She’s been using them almost every day for a few months now, and they still work great. The battery life is legitimately impressive — the case shows the charge level with a little LED display, which is surprisingly handy, and we easily get several days of use before needing to recharge. The wireless charging is convenient too. Sound quality is clear and perfectly decent for the price — good enough for her favorite music, podcasts, and even taking phone calls in the house. They stay in her ears well during walks, and the IPX5 waterproof rating gives us peace of mind when it’s drizzly out. The only small complaint is that they’re not quite as comfortable for really long wear (she sometimes switches ears after a couple hours), and the bass isn’t super deep compared to premium models. But for everyday use, that’s a very minor gripe. Overall, these have been a solid, no-fuss purchase that delivers way more than we expected for the money. If you’re a senior, on a budget, or just don’t want to overpay for earbuds, these are worth trying. Hope this helps someone!

Good Wireless Earphones Option for Price
Style: Standard, Color: Black
Works well compared to similar products. For around two years I was using a similar, different brand of wireless earphones also purchased off of Amazon, and they worked okay. I had originally switched over to wireless because my old headphone jack finally stopped working, unfortunately; now, of course, my new phone doesn't even have a headphone jack in the first place. I started buying these when I was no longer able to purchase from the previous brand off of Amazon. They were both around the same price and looked relatively similar. After a few months of using these, I can say that these are better than my previous brand, which I will refer as P.B. for short moving forward. As an avid music listener, these get the job done. For starters, they pair to my phone much faster (3 seconds max) as opposed to P.B. (7-12 seconds), they're also much better at keeping debris, junk, and other foreign materials out of the inner parts; I'd have to buy new earphones from P.B. every 3-5 months for this very reason. Perhaps my biggest compliment is the fact that the interactive "buttons" on the top sides of these earphones are far less sensitive than P.B. I'm personally not a huge fan of these buttons in the first place, but I can confidently say that I've accidentally pressed those sensors on these earphones relatively far less (maybe 2 or 3 times a week) then P.B. (at least 10 times a week). The case is also pretty durable; if I were to have dropped P.B.'s case with the earphones inside, there would have been a 100% chance that they would have gone flying; these, however, from the few times I've dropped the case, have stayed inside the case, undamaged. Battery life for both is about the same (about 4-5 hours but haven't really noticed a whole lot), as is/was audio quality. Overall a good product for the price; my only complaint is with the occasional, accidental, button press, pausing my music, which can't be disabled as far as a know. Frustrating, as this was a problem that I had with P.B. as well, but not a deal breaker. For casual music listing, this shouldn't be a problem. Originally had to return my first pair for issues with the hinge on the case breaking, but was sent a new product at no cost and haven't had any problems with the new one. 10/10 for price, 8/10 for audio quality, and 7.5/10 for battery life. Update: after a few more months of further usage the earphones still function well and as intended. My only new complaint is regarding the charging case used for the earphones. Normally, you place the earphones in their respective charging slots, close the case, and done, that's it. That's all that needs to be done in order to unpair and charge your earphones. Unfortunately, as of recently, the case itself doesn't seem to be closing all the way anymore. I didn't even notice at first, since the case appears to still close as it used to, but the case now requires extra emphasis when closing to ensure proper charging. The battery power display on the front of the case will let you know if the case has closed all the way by displaying the "charging" animation for either/both of the earphones. I must admit, this is by far the only truly frustrating experience I've had with this product; if the case isn't properly closed, the earphones not only won't charge, but they'll continue to broadcast audio from your phone. A few times now I've attempted to play audio through my phone speaker, only to realize that one or both of my earphones aren't properly charging in their case. This is my replacement pair, which I received because of the hinge falling apart on my original pair; I've had this current set of earphones for around two months now, and just started having this problem with the case about a week ago. Very disappointed to have a problem this prominent only two months out. Right now the issue is 50/50, but if I put in the extra thought to ensure that the case is closed, that does seem to help quite a bit. Still leaving this as a positive review because at the end of the day the earphones still work just as well as when I received them, although it is disappointing that the case is now uncooperative half the time after two months of gentle/normal use. Perhaps a third-party "skin" for the case would help with this issue; if it persists I will consider that option. Wish I could rate 3.5/5 stars.
