Overview

Zinnias are one of the easiest flowers to grow, shooting up quickly and blooming heavily. Zinnia flowers can create a massive burst of color in your garden, and they attract beneficial insects to your garden such as butterflies.

Conditions

Zinnias prefer fertile, well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Consider adding compost before planting to amend the soil. For optimal blooms and large plants, provide full sun (6+ hours of direct sunlight per day).

Planting

Zinnias are most commonly started indoors and transplanted into the garden. Use our grow calendar tool to find specific planting dates for your region! Seeds germinate quickly in 3-10 days.

Plant seeds indoors in starter pots or trays 4 weeks before your desired transplant date. Plant ¼" deep and keep the soil surface moist until emergence. Do not allow plants to become root bound, as zinnias are sensitive to transplant shock. Transition outside (harden) for 7 days before outdoor transplant. Space 9-12" apart for most varieties.

In warmer climates, zinnia seeds can be directly planted outdoors in the garden. When the soil is warm, plant 6 seeds per foot, 1/4" deep. Cover lightly but firmly. Keep surface from drying out until emergence. Thin to 9-12" apart after the first true leaves appear.

Pests and Disease

Adequate spacing is important to keep proper air circulation and prevent powdery mildew.

Care & Harvest

It is necessary to cut and remove old flowers (a process called deadheading) to encourage new flower growth. Zinnias can be left in the garden through blooming or cut for flower arrangements shortly before flowers are completely open.

Happy dogs
Size: Whole Ears (Pack of 80)
I have two rescue dogs and one of them is a unrelenting 'I'm chewing everything in sight' pitbull. I've had her for a year and she is now three years old . I know this aggressive chewing will stop as she grows older but for now I find any snack that will keep her busy . I have bully sticks which are quite expensive and doesn't last as long as it should.I bought this 100 pack pig ears and of course they love it but it also takes her about the same amount of time to finish it as a 12 inch bully stick, which is a win in my book. These ears are cheaper than bully sticks and are healthier than rawhide chews . These pig ears come in different sizes but most of them are huge where I'm in need to search for a smaller one for my other dog since she is 50 lbs and not 80 lbs like my pitbull. If you need ones that are sliced smaller , then you're in luck because they also sell one with mixed whole and slices. I got the whole ears and I am very happy with the quality of them. It was sent in a sealed plastic bag within a box. Once opened there is no way to reseal them so be prepared to repackage or as I did, put them in a airtight container like the ones I use for their dog food. Hope this helps other dog lovers keep their doggos happy

Huge!
Size: Whole Ears (Pack of 60)
I always bought pig ears at Costco until they quit carrying them. My dogs were addicted at that point, and anything comparable was more than double the price. I ordered a few different brands on Amazon and they were either tiny, or the picture didn’t match what was delivered. I have a Rottweiler. He eats these like potato chips. I read reviews for these that were negative and was hesitant to buy them because of the negative reviews. My only complaint is that I also have a Basset Hound, and she buries these in my house because they’re too big for her to eat at one time.

💔My dogs are throwing up and diarrhea BLOOD!
Size: Whole Ears (Pack of 22)
Salmonella I have 5 dogs. On Thursday, July 17, I received a package of pig ears from this company. This was not the first time my dogs had pig ears but it was the first time I purchased from you. My dogs were each given a pig ear. Within 24 hours, all of my dogs were throwing up and diarrhea. By Saturday, all 5 of my dogs were throwing up straight blood and diarrhea straight blood!!! Puddles! It was horrifying and looked like a crime scene in my house!!! My husband and I were hysterical! My dogs were so weak and lethargic, and sick! 4 of my dogs are under 10lbs and were in the emergency vet getting an IV and fighting for life, as well as my 10 year old American Staff rescue who has a weak immune system because she fought heartworms a year and a half ago before we adopted her. It is currently Monday morning and our nightmare hasn't ended! My husband and I, both work, and have literally not slept since! 24 hours a day we are cleaning up after dogs - vomit, diarrhea, and tons of it! From each! Last night my smallest dachshund threw up 16 times in 15 minutes - on my bed, lap, floor, everywhere! Blood! We are torn- are lives are shattered! In the blink of an eye all because we thought we were spoiling our dogs and giving them a treat! Now they are fighting for life! We have spent thousands at the emergency vet for all of them! We still don't know if they are going to make it! We are so devastated and feel so helpless watching them! We try to console them but how do you console all 5 at once and what do you do when they don't understand & they are so weak and miserable and blood is coming out of their bodies faster than you can clean it! I think it is important for people to be aware! After researching, I found out that this company had a salmonella outbreak across 45 states in 2019.
