This is a resilient and under-appreciated grass for damp spaces and wet meadows.

Spike bentgrass can hold ground against invasive reed canary grass, and still leave spaces for damp ground wildflowers such as camas to grow. In fact, its tufted growth habit and short stature (usually not more than 2-feet), leaves a lot of spaces for interesting wildflower companion plantings, as well as sedges, and other grasses.

Combine it with tufted hair grass to create a structure of tufts and clumping hummocks, contrasted by the lower, tunnel-like spaces in between. This kind of varied ground structure supports all of the most fascinating kinds of meadow organisms that we are always crouched down looking for on our own farm – predatory ground beetles, Townsend’s vole, blue garter snakes, the caterpillars of various skipper butterflies.

Spike bentgrass is a caterpillar host plant for the sublime and smoky-metallic-colored roadside skipper butterfly (Amblyscirtes vialis). Combine spike bentgrass with self-heal --  a preferred nectar source for the skipper -- and you’ve got the foundation of an entire interesting ecosystem.

Once established, this grass won’t be easily displaced by invasives - it's a carbon-dioxide capture machine, sucking CO2 from the air and channeling it into a massive fibrous root system. Its small seed size also allows for a low seeding rate to go a long way.

This is definitely a plant for full sun, and soils that are either seasonally flooded (even if they dry out in summer) or consistently damp. It's a winner in rain gardens, low areas with clay soil, ditches, bioswales, even former lawns areas that aren’t excessively drained.

This paper prints beautifully!
Size: 8.5"*11", Color: 150 sheets
Great sublimation paper. I usually use A Sub but ordered this because it delivered faster, and now this is the paper I’ll be using! It prints wonderfully! The ink release is amazing! There’s hardly any ink left in the paper and my shirts look incredible. The paper is a great weight and doesn’t jam at all. If you’ve been disappointed with your sub print quality, give this paper a try. You won’t be disappointed!

High Transfer, Bright Colors & No Ghosting
Size: 8.5"*14", Color: 150 sheets, Size: 8.5"*14", Color: 150 sheets
This HTVRONT sublimation paper 8.5x14 inch has been excellent for my sublimation projects. The 120gsm weight feels sturdy and feeds smoothly through my inkjet printer without jams or curling. It holds ink well, which helps produce clean, sharp prints before pressing. The transfer results are impressive. Colors come out vibrant and true, with strong detail and no dull or faded areas. I’ve had very little ghosting, and designs transfer evenly onto shirts, mugs, and other sublimation blanks. The claimed high transfer rate really shows in the final results. I also like the larger 8.5x14 size, which gives extra space for bigger designs or multiple smaller prints on one sheet. The paper releases well during pressing, leaving minimal residue and clean edges. Pros: ✔ Bright, vibrant color transfer ✔ Minimal ghosting or smudging ✔ Smooth printer feeding ✔ Great for shirts, mugs, and hard blanks ✔ Good value for the sheet count Cons: – Must be used with sublimation ink – Requires correct heat press settings for best results Overall, this HTVRONT sublimation paper is a reliable choice for anyone doing sublimation printing who wants strong color transfer, crisp detail, and consistent results. Great for both beginners and small business use.
