Amorphophallus konjac shares many of the characteristics of its giant cousins but is much easier to grow in temperate climates and does well overwintering as a bulb in zones 6-11. It's tolerant of a wide range of well draining garden soils but we grow it in pots with a mix of equal parts peat, perlite/pumice and orchid bark and use 1/2 strength osmocote plus applied in the soil every 6 months.
