The stems are covered in bristly, glassy pale-yellow spines that are all similar in shape and length. The Echinocactus grusonii cristata is a rare, delicate, and small crested variant, known for its soft spines and tangled brain-like green mounds. It forms large, touch-friendly mounds with its growth.
