Growing Tips

Lettuce seeds need light to help them germinate, so make sure you plant shallow. Because of this, it is a good idea to plant lettuce about 1 inch apart and thin after germination.

Keep soil moist during the germination period, as shallow seeds will tend to dry out, or even wash away if the soil is allowed to become too dry and later watered.

Common Uses

Use buttercrunch lettuce as you would any regular lettuce. Buttercrunch has a rich flavor profile and is an excellent complement to any dish.

Harvesting Crops

You can start harvesting your lettuce leaves at about 21 days; however you'll want to be careful not to damage the head (which will be ready in about 55 days).

Harvesting Seed

Allow a couple of lettuce plants to bolt and flower. These flowers will dry out on plant and have puffs of white cotton showing around the top (like a dandelion). Pick these flower heads and toss them in a bag.

Break the flower heads apart and oval shaped seeds will fall out. Allow the seeds to dry for a couple of weeks before safely storing them for the next growing season.

Nice, but not as nice as I'd hoped and the shoulders are too tight
Color: A-black, Size: Large
This is nice, but not as nice as it looked in the pictures. Still very good value for the price. It's a medium-heavy weight Q-zip that looks good, but the pics online were much nicer looking. It's comfortable and warm, but just ok overall. I like that the collar is on the taller side assuming I would wear it golfing in cooler weather, but the pockets are kind of shallow. It fits well overall, but the dealbreaker for me is that the shoulders are tight with a Large size. I could wear this out casually, but I don't think I could swing a golf club. I am 5'10" and "husky" in my old age and my shoulders are probably on the broader side, but the rest fits well so I was surprised how snug the shoulders were.

Nice Fit
Color: Black, White, Light Gray, Size: 3X-Large
I picked this up looking for something simple but clean, and it delivered. The fit is comfortable, the material feels solid, and it looks good without needing much effort. It’s one of those pieces you can throw on and still look put together.
