I painted And Made Her Princess Of All Wild Things for a 2013 exhibition I did with fellow artist, Mike Capp, at LTD Gallery in Seattle. The show was titled Icons and Influences and in it we payed homage to a lot of the books, films and other media that inspired and shaped our art and creative process. I have painted a number of other Wild Things x Miyazaki mash-ups, but this was the first one.

And Made Her Princess Of All Wild Things combines a composition from Where The Wild Things Are (Maurice Sendak), with some of my favorite Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki) characters: Princess Mononoke, Totoro, Deer God (Princess Mononoke), No Face, Howl, and an Automaton (Castle in the Sky). There are a kodama and some soot sprites in there too.

Excellent presentation of the rationale and the underlying theory behind the approach. I particularly like the presentation of the first six sessions. However, I did not endorse this with 5 stars because I believe that the solution-focused approach does not go far enough for some couples and that they need some more structured interventions for managing conflict, such as those presented in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

A Great Way to Expose Yourself to Malpractice Lawsuits

What the authors fails to say is that doing couples work where domestic violence is active is illegal in some cases and against standards of practice in most others. Not only might a clinician be increasing a client to dangerous relationship situations by conducting couples work where IPV is present, they are increasing their exposure to litigation. Let's not forget, this is the same APA who turned a blind eye to torture in the "war on terrorism."
