This plant is a cultivated hybrid of the Echeveria genus, which is native to the semi-desert regions of Mexico and Central America. 'Agyntha' is particularly prized by collectors for its compact growth habit and the "farina" (a powdery wax coating) that gives it a soft, matte finish.
  
  What sets 'Agyntha' apart is its ethereal glow. The thick coating of epicuticular wax (farina) not only protects the plant from sunburn but also makes the leaves look like they are sculpted from porcelain or frosted glass. It maintains a very tight, symmetrical rosette shape that looks like a permanent desert flower.
  
  In late spring to summer, it produces tall, slender stalks topped with bell-shaped flowers. These blooms are typically a vibrant coral or orange-pink on the outside with yellow interiors, providing a striking contrast to the muted tones of the foliage.
