Cinder is a natural, porous material used to improve drainage and airflow in soil. It’s especially useful in Pakistan’s hot and humid climates, where overwatering and poor soil aeration can lead to root rot.

Cinder is commonly used in potted plants, succulent setups, bonsai, adeniums, garden beds, lawns, and rooftop gardens to keep roots healthy and prevent waterlogging. It’s lightweight, reusable, and works well in both indoor and outdoor setups.

Benefits:

  • Improves Drainage: Reduces standing water in pots, beds, and compact soil
  • Boosts Aeration: Allows roots to breathe and grow stronger
  • Lightweight & Reusable: Easy to handle, and can be reused after rinsing
  • Perfect for Succulents & Cacti: Helps avoid root rot in dry-loving plants
  • Mixes Easily: Works well with cocopeat, compost, and garden soil

How to Use Cinder

1. For Potted Plants:

  • Mix 20–30% cinder with regular soil or cocopeat
  • Best for indoor/outdoor pots, flowering plants, roses, adeniums and bonsai

2. For Garden Beds or Raised Beds:

  • Blend 50% cinder into heavy or clay-like soil for better drainage
  • Great for lawns, rooftop gardens, or areas with poor water flow

3. For Succulent Mixes:

  • Use 30–50% cinder with perlite and sandy soil for cactus and aloe-type plants

4. For Hydroponics or Orchids:

  • Use as a base layer for drainage or support media in soilless setups

FAQs – Cinder for Gardening

Is cinder safe for flowering plants like roses and hibiscus?
Yes, it helps improve drainage and root health in flowering plants, especially in pots.

Can I use cinder instead of perlite or pumice?
Yes. Cinder offers similar drainage benefits but holds less moisture than perlite or pumice. It's a good option for succulents, bonsai and adeniums, especially in hot or humid areas.

What’s the best way to mix cinder for potting?
Mix 30–50% cinder with cocopeat, compost, or sandy soil. This gives you the drainage of cinder with enough moisture retention for healthy root growth.

Does cinder work in rainy areas or during monsoon?
Yes — it prevents water from pooling around roots. Ideal for use during Pakistan’s monsoon season or in clay-heavy soils.

Pampers Always!
Size: Size 4, Unit Count: 92
Pampers has been the choice for all three of my babies over the years. So very rarely leak and super comfy! May be a bit more pricey but WORTH IT. These are not as nice of quality as pampers swaddlers but still great and cheaper.

Pampers Baby Dry = Diaper Royalty
Size: Size 4, Unit Count: 186
Okay, let’s just I was loyal to Luvs for a long time. We had a good run, but after a few too many “why does it smell like that?” moments, I decided it was time for a diaper glow-up. These diapers understood the assignment. The fit? Perfect. Snug without being tight, soft without feeling flimsy. My baby moves like i'm constantly wrestling a gator and not once has this diaper let me down. No leaks, no overnight disasters, no random damp pajamas that make you question your life choices at 2 a.m. Pampers said “let’s make a diaper that can handle a whole night of baby chaos.” Mission accomplished. And the smell? Or should I say, lack of smell. Pampers somehow manages to keep things fresh. This was my biggest ick using Luvs. Honestly, the switch from Luvs felt like trading in my old car for a luxury SUV. Still gets the job done, but now with comfort, style, and zero mess. (and affordable!!!) If you’re tired of surprise leaks, mystery odors, or mid-night outfit changes, this is your sign: Pampers Baby Dry is the one. 💚 Would I recommend? Absolutely. Would I ever go back? Not a chance.

Pampers Baby Dry are actually good again! Major upgrade.
Size: Size 3, Unit Count: 168
I’ve used Baby Dry off and on for a while, but the new “improved” version is a huge step up from the old design. They used to feel kind of generic, thin, boxy, and not great for active toddlers, but now they’re a real contender next to Swaddlers and Huggies Little Movers. What’s new: • The shape is much more like Swaddlers, snugger around the hips and legs, less floppy in the front. • Tabs are noticeably stronger and stretchier. • The inside has a new ultra cushiony top layer that feels soft and plush, not papery. • They seem to have a slightly faster and more even absorbency, too. • Still the same cute Sesame Street prints and blue inner layer, but the overall fit and quality feel more “premium.” Size-wise, the new Baby Dry run a bit larger than Huggies size 3 but a touch smaller than Swaddlers size 3 so a great in-between fit. For parents like us who can’t use 360-style pull-ons at daycare, these are perfect. They have tabs, fit toddlers well, and hold up to big pees without the sag or stiffness the old Baby Dry had. Bottom line: a big win for Pampers these finally feel like a proper toddler diaper, not an expensive generic. Highly recommend giving them another try if you haven’t used them recently!

Reliable overnight protection with minimal leaks
Size: Size 6, Unit Count: 112
These have been very reliable for overnight use. They hold a lot without leaking, even after a full night of sleep. The fit is secure around the legs and waist without leaving marks. I also appreciate that they don’t have a strong scent. Compared to other brands I’ve tried, these seem to last longer before needing a change. Only minor downside is they can feel a bit bulky when very full, but that’s expected for the absorbency.

Just works for us!
Size: Size 1, Unit Count: 44
Had to transfer from Huggies and Pura because our son kept leaking through those, despite trying all the tips and tricks. Needless to say we’re really pleased with these! They’re WAY more absorbent. Only downside is that it’s not designed for sensitive skin, but diaper rash cream always does the trick for our little guy
