French Marigold seeds for the garden that has decided it deserves better than the garden centre allows. French Marigold is the most reliable flower in the garden and the least demanding, which makes it the most useful.

French Marigold is a compact annual that deters pests, tolerates neglect, and produces flowers from early summer to frost without complaint. Each packet is hermetically vacuum-sealed -- removing the oxygen that causes standard paper seed packets to lose germination viability within approximately one year. State law requires a 3-year viability label on sealed packaging. NASA research on hermetic seed storage indicates viability of up to 10 years under proper conditions. Every packet is non-GMO and germination-tested at independent third-party labs before it earns its Japanese woodblock print artwork.

How to Grow French Marigold from Seed

Sowing and Germination

Direct sow or start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost.

Care and Harvest

Compact, bushy. Deadhead for continuous flowering. Companion plant -- deters pests. 50-60 days.

Why Vacuum-Sealed Seeds Last Longer

Standard paper seed packets are permeable to oxygen and moisture -- the two primary causes of seed degradation. Most paper-packaged seeds begin losing germination viability after approximately one year, contributing to significant garden-industry waste: packets purchased, not planted, expired, discarded. Shido Seeds are hermetically vacuum-sealed. The packet does not expire quietly in a drawer. It waits.

About the Packaging

Every Shido seed packet is illustrated in the style of Japanese 1910s woodblock printing -- designed and drawn in-house by Chive, the Toronto ceramics studio that has been exhibiting at the Chelsea Flower Show in London every year and does not, as a matter of principle, sell to big-box retailers. Customers collect the packets as a series. This was not the original plan.

Book Review
Format: Paperback
{My thoughts} – We meet Danielle when her family is going through her great Aunts belongings. They are fighting over who gets what and who can take care of what it is that they get. Her great Aunt didn’t put a lot of thought into how terrible many of her family members are when it comes to possessions. She ends up finding her great Aunt’s scrapbooks and actually manages to keep a couple of them. When she gets back home she draws in one and brings to life Prince Neptune. This is when she learns that the sketchbook has magical properties. She is your average 7th grader just trying to find her way in a world of chaos. She wants to make friends and be popular but she is one of the least popular people in her school. She eventually draws and creates the perfect best friend and they do things together and make things work out, but then Madison learns she has freewill and she ditches Danielle for awhile. They do eventually come back together, but it isn’t until things get really rocky for Danielle and her other classmates because of the stunts that Prince Neptune pulls. This is a well written graphic novel and I really enjoyed reading through it as well as looking at the images within it’s pages. I enjoyed the storyline, because it helps to show children that it’s okay to not be one of the popular crowd, that you can make friends and blossom. Even if it’s done in some unconventional ways. I admit I’d read the second book in this series first, but it didn’t really skew my perception. It worked out alright and I look forward to more books in this series coming out in the future! They are worth the read and have good moral lessons within their pages. I am sure many children can relate to the characters within the books.

A lovable graphic novel!
Format: Kindle
Hello! I loved this book! Ive read it so many times and recently purchaced the sequel as well. Heres the basic story layout (spoilers ahead, read if you dare!) Dany is a girl who has a few friends that she hung out with in sixth grade. But shes transitioning tol seventh grade now, and she doesnt have any friends in her classes and lunch wave. But one day she finds a magical sketchbook that belonged to her aunt, but she doesnt know its magic, until she draws thehead of her favorite character (Prince Neptune) from a comic she reads called Solar Sisters, and his head comes to life! So she ends up drawing her perfect best friend: Shes popular, funny, gets good grades, and has good comebacks. Her name is Madison. She and Dany have the best time together, buying stuff at the mall with unlimited cash, and flying around town with their magic rings (thanks, magic sketchbook!) until when Dany brings Prince Neptune to school, during a big game at their gym, he busts in with a full body and takes over the school! Im not telling you the ending, get it for yourself and find out! Its a great book that explains all of middle school/ juinor highs struggles! Ive read it a ton of times! A must buy! GachaMemer33, OUT! :D

Good but eh...
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed the book, I like how its different from other books, but when i reread the book, it seemed so cringey that she would like an evil character. I mean come on! Of course he was going become evil at once in the book, why else would he be a character?! It kind of has a predictable plot. So.... ya! (BTW, thats just my own opinons!)

Great GN about friendship w/ a supernatural twist
Format: Paperback
This full-color graphic novel is about a 7th grade girl named Dany. She has just started middle school and is pretty lonely. Her friends are in different classes now and have new in-jokes and stories that she doesn’t get anymore. So she’s feeling socially vulnerable when her eccentric (and loaded) great-aunt passes away and she ends up with the woman’s sketchbook. A magical sketchbook that will turn your drawing into real-life. So when Dany draws the head of her favorite anime character (uh yeah… JUST the head) and a super popular girl to be her friend, there are (as you can imagine!) some unintended consequences. This book is FUNNY but you won’t catch half the stuff unless you read the background texts - like the store names: “Hot Topic” is “Cool Subject” and the indredients list on the food have some interesting things listed on them. This book is like a mix of Shannon Hale’s Real Friends with a touch of Suee and the Shadow with a little sprinkle of Amulet. If you have readers about ages 10 and up who like graphic novels about friendships and would be up for something with a supernatural twist, then this would be a great recommendation. And… I see Gudsnuk has a sequel in store as well!
