Because this plant has variegations which means they have less chlorophyll, which means they need more light to survive (science, yay!)

Keep the Manjula in a spot bright enough for you to read a book without the lights on. And water when the first fingertip length of the soil is dry (every 5-7 days give or take). Like their cousins, the Manjula tolerates a bit of drought and you'll notice that the leaves will wilt a little when it craves that hit of H2O. If you see the leaves drooping, water the plant and it'll perk back up!
