Stunning native perennial with glorious spikes of pale purple snapdragon-like flowers that have a sweet scent and are beloved by bumblebees. This low-water and low-care plant thrive in poor soil. The largest Idaho native penstemon, reaching over 3' tall when in flower.

Directions: Direct sow in late fall, pressing lightly into the surface of the soil. Do not cover the seeds as they require light to germinate. To start indoors, remove seeds from the packet and wrap in a moist (but not sopping wet) coffee filter or paper towel, place in a plastic sandwich bag, then place in a clean glass jar. Store the jar with seeds in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 months. If you want to broadcast the seed (rather than sowing individually), mix the seeds with moist sand in a plastic bag. Put the bag in a clean jar and the place in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 months. Then plant the cold-stratified seed. Transplant container-grown plants outside after danger of frost when plants are large enough to handle easily.
