Aglaonema 'Golden Bay'

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' is a variegated Chinese evergreen with upright, leafy clumping growth. Green and golden yellow tones run through the leaf surface, and yellow-toned petioles continue the colour through the centre of the plant.

Firm patterned leaves belong to the normal cultivar appearance. Sudden even yellowing on older leaves, soft stems or persistent wet substrate point to root-zone stress.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' green-and-gold pattern

  • Leaf colour: Green and golden areas share the leaf surface.
  • Petioles: Yellow-toned petioles echo the warm colour of the leaves.
  • Pattern: The leaf surface shows a mixed green-and-gold pattern.
  • Habit: Upright petioles and short stems form a leafy clump.
  • Container growth: New leaves rise from the centre and gradually thicken the plant in the pot.
  • Light: Filtered light gives the plant enough brightness while reducing direct-sun scorch on pale sections.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' colour and root-zone clues

A firm leaf with green-and-gold patterning is normal for Aglaonema 'Golden Bay'. Stress yellowing looks more even, often starting on older leaves while the substrate stays wet or the base of the plant softens.

Because the plant grows as a dense clump, the root zone needs air as well as moisture. A compact pot with an airy mix is safer than a large pot filled with heavy substrate, especially in cooler indoor conditions.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' indoor care

  • Light: Place it in bright filtered to medium indirect light. Direct sun can scorch yellow or cream-toned sections.
  • Water: Water after the upper layer of substrate has started to dry, then let excess water drain fully.
  • Substrate: Use a loose, moisture-retentive mix that does not collapse around the roots.
  • Temperature: Keep it warm and stable. Cold roots and wet substrate can cause quick decline.
  • Humidity: Moderate indoor humidity is suitable, with higher humidity reducing the chance of dry new leaf edges.
  • Cleaning: Wipe leaves gently so mineral marks and dust do not dull the green-and-gold pattern.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' care signals

  • Patterned leaves: Firm leaves with green-and-gold colouring are normal for this cultivar.
  • Stress yellowing: Sudden, even yellowing on older leaves often points to watering or root-zone problems.
  • Soft stems: Wet substrate and cool conditions can damage the base of the plant.
  • Scorched areas: Direct sun can brown pale yellow or cream-toned sections.
  • Brown tips: Dry air, salt buildup or irregular watering can mark the leaf edges.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' safety

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' should be kept away from pets and small children. Like other Aglaonema, it contains calcium oxalate crystals that can irritate the mouth, throat, skin or eyes.

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' botanical note

Aglaonema 'Golden Bay' is a cultivated interspecific Aglaonema hybrid. Aglaonema belongs to Araceae, and the genus name comes from Greek roots meaning bright or clear and thread, referring to floral structure.

It works very well.
I recommend this cream for eczema. I had several spots on my body so I would slather it on and with in 1 month the spots on my body were gone. BUT the spots on my scalp have not gone as it is hard to put this on your hair/ scalp every time it itches. So this has been an ongoing problem but it does soothe the skin that is flaring up.

Best Cream!!
Love this stuff! I got this because menopause was killing my skin. It was awful! Itchy, red and dry. I couldn't sleep it was so bad. I found this, and it's literally the only thing that actually helped. I went through my first jar quickly, no you don't need much, but my rash was all over my arms, neck and chest. After my second jar and using it a few times a day, my rash is gone! Some people may not like the smell, but I think it's actually nice. It's not greasy, and I don't feel gross after putting it on. I hate greasy creams. On my third jar now! This one is lasting much longer since I don't need it as much.

Good Relief, But a Little Pricey
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt like this cream deserved one. I’ve tried so many products for dry, itchy eczema patches, and most either felt greasy, burned when applied, or just didn’t do much. Puriya has been such a refreshing change. The texture is smooth, it absorbs quickly without leaving that sticky feeling, and within a couple of days my skin felt calmer and the redness started to fade. What I really like is how versatile it is. I’ve used it on flare-ups, random dry spots, and even my hands when they get irritated in the summer. It feels gentle but still effective, and I don’t need to use a ton for it to work. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the price. It’s a little on the higher side for the amount you get. I also find myself reapplying a bit more often than I’d like. But overall, it’s one of the better creams I’ve tried, and I’ll definitely keep using it.

Not good for eczema
This cream shouldn't be described as an eczema cream. Eczema is usually colonized by s. aureus bacteria, and you need a powerful anti-bacterial substance in your skin cream in order to combat it. Neem oil or manuka honey both have strong anti-bacterial effects, and I recommend getting a cream with one of those ingredients if you have eczema. This Puriya cream is helpful for moisturizing dry skin to prevent eczema. However, it won't help to stop eczema once you've got it. That said, customer service was very helpful and gave me a refund for the product after I complained.

Mid
Very nice and moisturizing on the skin but didn't do much repairing. Overly expensive for nothing.
