In bright light, the red tones become even richer. Fine white filaments grow from the center of the rosette, giving the plant a soft, delicate look and helping it hold moisture in dry conditions.                                                                                                                                      
  This plant stays small in pots but can slowly spread to form a mat. It may send up a short flower stalk with a single, large, bright pink bloom that opens in the afternoon and closes at night. It prefers bright light and well-draining soil. It can handle slightly more water than many succulents, and its leaves will wrinkle gently when it needs watering.
