Lavender won’t tolerate soggy roots, so be sure you have soil that drains well. It prefers dry to average moisture levels and is drought tolerant once established. Cut back spent flowers once flowering has finished in late summer and trim about an inch of foliage to keep shrubs compact and full. Lavender is toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.
