Grow a true heirloom favorite with Cushaw Green Striped Pumpkin Squash Seeds — a beautiful, uniquely shaped pumpkin-squash hybrid that’s both ornamental and delicious! This Southern heirloom variety produces large, long-necked fruits with creamy white skin and bold green stripes, making them just as stunning for fall displays as they are in the kitchen. The flesh is deep orange, mildly sweet, and smooth, perfect for baking, roasting, or pureeing into pies, soups, and casseroles.

Cushaw squash is especially loved by gardeners in warm or humid climates because it’s incredibly heat-tolerant and pest-resistant, often outlasting other pumpkin and winter squash varieties that struggle with squash vine borers and mildew. Each vigorous vine can produce several large fruits, often weighing between 10–20 pounds, with long storage life once cured.

Squash growing tips: To control powdery mildew and other leaf diseases caused by mold, fungus, or bacteria, simply remove yellowing, damaged, or diseased leaves by hand once weekly to decrease the spread. Spray with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect if needed. Spray squash plants with BT (Bacillus thuringiensis) if you noticed chewed up leaves caused by worm/caterpillar infestations. Hand pollinate the female flowers to ensure they get pollinated and produce fruit.

Planting Instructions
Germination: 5-10 days

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2” deep

Sowing: Direct sowing is preferred after your last spring frost date. In warmer climates can also direct sow at the end of summer for a fall harvest.

How to harvest: For the best flavor and texture harvest when the stem piece connecting the squash to the vine is all dried out and brown.

Days to maturity: 110 days

Common Diseases: Squash get a lot of leaf diseases caused by pathogens like molds, fungus spores, bacteria etc.... It is very common, so dont worry. Spray with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect. Repeat every 5 days or so as a preventative, or until you notice the spread of the disease has stopped.

Common Pests: Critters like rabbits love to munch on newly germinated seedlings, so protection from small animals might be required. If you notice the leaves are chewed up and there are small black, green, or orange balls, worms/caterpillars are chewing up the plants. Spray with BT or spinosad to treat for the worms.

Solid Kids Sandals, Overpriced Like Most Kids Shoes 🌞
Size: 11 Little Kid, Color: Brown, Size: 11 Little Kid, Color: Brown
My son hasn’t worn these yet since it’s December in Indiana and sandals + snow obviously don’t mix. 😂 So this review is based on first impressions rather than long term wear. That said, these seem wider than a lot of typical kids’ sandals, which I REALLY appreciate since we tend to have wider feet in our family. #hobbitfeet The quality feels pretty decent overall. They’re described as lightweight, and while they’re not insanely lightweight, they do have enough weight to feel semi-sturdy and not flimsy or cheap. I like the style and color, and I think they’ll work well for my son once warmer weather hits. My main complaint is the price. At just under $24 at the time of this review, it feels a little high for kids’ sandals and for what these are. I really feel like $20 MAX would make more sense. Kids shoes are almost always priced like adult shoes, even though they clearly use less material, and that’s hard for me to understand and wrap my mind around. Overall, these seem solid for daily wear, I just wish the price was a bit more reasonable and affordable.
