We love this towering plant for its thick purple stems, coarse green foliage, and large rounded umbels of tiny white and green flowers which appear in the second year. Pollinators love it as well. 

Angelica has long been used as a culinary and medicinal herb: leaves can be mixed into salad; stalks and young shoots can be used like celery or crystallized in sugar for decoration; leaves and roots can be made into tea; and seed is used for flavoring liqueurs such as Chartreuse. 

Grow in moist, fertile soil for best results. Plant will self-seed when happy, but seeds may take two or more years to germinate.
