グラスゴーとサウスロンドンを拠点に、Finlay Clark（ギター）、David Kennedy（ドラム）、Jessica Hickie-Kallenbach（ヴォーカル）によって結成されたトリオ、Still House Plants。ブルックリンのアートコミュニティ〈Blank Forms〉からリリースされたセカンドアルバム『Fast Edit』は、UKガラージ、フリージャズ、R&Bなど、リスナーの音楽遍歴によって捉え方が変わるカテゴライズ不能な問題作。ボイスレコーダーや携帯電話にストックされたリハーサルやライブの音源とスタジオテイクをブレンドし、カット＆ペーストしながら作られたという本作は、コラージュ音楽のような側面を持ちつつも、それぞれのパートが独立した演奏をしながらときどき共鳴し合うといった趣が強く、展開が予測できない偶然性のアートを感じられる作品。ジャンキーなループと変則的なリズム、ベースすらもないミニマルな編成が奏でるどこまでも生々しいサウンドがもたらす緊迫感の中に、枯れた哀愁と刹那の希望が見え隠れする。
