Botanical name: Fittonia albivenis 'Pink'
Common Names: Pink Nerve Plant

The Pink Nerve Plant (Fittonia albivenis 'Pink') is a vibrant, tropical beauty that brings a burst of color and texture to any indoor space. Known for its eye-catching, pink-veined leaves set against lush green foliage, this plant is a showstopper. Compact and low-growing, it’s perfect for terrariums, desks, and shelves, adding a pop of color to brighten your home or workspace. Its striking appearance and easy-care nature make it a favorite for plant enthusiasts and beginners alike.

What Makes the Pink Nerve Plant Special?

The Pink Nerve Plant stands out from other houseplants because of its uniquely patterned leaves featuring soft pink veins that run through rich, deep green leaves. While other Fittonia varieties showcase white or red veins, the pink version offers a softer yet bold alternative, making it a great choice for adding warmth and a touch of tropical charm to your space.

Its small, spreading growth habit allows it to thrive in tight spaces, such as terrariums or compact plant displays. This variety is particularly loved for its ability to create a natural, lush look while bringing a cheerful splash of color. Occasionally, small white or off-white flowers may bloom at the stem tips, adding an extra layer of charm.

Interesting Facts About the Pink Nerve Plant

  1. Rainforest Origins: This variety, like others in the Fittonia family, originates from the humid tropical rainforests of South America, where it thrives as a ground cover in shaded, damp areas.
  2. Humidity Enthusiast: The Pink Nerve Plant is perfectly adapted to high-humidity environments, making it ideal for terrariums or spaces like kitchens and bathrooms.
  3. Compact Growth: Its petite size and low-growing nature make it a great addition to terrariums, windowsills, or as part of a mixed arrangement.
  4. Color Variety: The pink veins create a soothing yet playful aesthetic, offering a distinct look compared to the more common white-veined Fittonia varieties.

Benefits of the Pink Nerve Plant

  • Adds a Pop of Color: The pink veins provide a beautiful accent, perfect for brightening up neutral or minimal decor.
  • Terrarium Favorite: Its love for humidity and compact size make it an excellent choice for terrariums or small tabletop gardens.
  • Non-Toxic and Family-Friendly: Safe for kids and pets, it’s an ideal option for homes with little ones or furry friends.
  • Great for Small Spaces: Its petite size makes it perfect for tight corners, small shelves, or tiny plant arrangements.
  • Stress-Free Care: Despite its tropical look, the Pink Nerve Plant is low-maintenance and thrives with minimal effort.

Care Instructions

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch its delicate leaves.
  • Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, and don’t let it sit in standing water.
  • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity; mist frequently or use a humidifier to mimic its rainforest origins.
  • Temperature: Does best in temperatures between 65–80°F (18–27°C). Protect it from drafts and extreme temperature changes.
  • Soil: A well-draining potting mix enriched with organic matter is ideal.
  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) to support healthy growth.

Is It Safe for Kids and Pets?

The Pink Nerve Plant is non-toxic, making it a wonderful, worry-free option for homes with curious children or pets. Its safe and vibrant nature means you can confidently display it in any room of your home.

Best Westie ball ever, my dog loves this ball. Exactly her size! 3" tennis balls are too big & she rips the fur off. this silicone-ish ball has no fur & is 2&1/2 " We have 2" balls from her electronic ball laucher, but she still loves this glow in the dark best!

Best dog ball in the world!
Size: Large, Pattern Name: Pack of 1, Size: Large, Pattern Name: Pack of 1
My dog is singularly obsessed with playing ball. He would drop a steak to chase a ball. (He'd return to the steak, but not without the retrieved ball. He's not an idiot.) He makes dangerous leaps, crashes into trees, and runs fast enough to catch thrown balls before they even hit the ground. Since he doesn't care about his own wellbeing, it's my job to protect him as much as I can. And a lot of balls are hard enough to cause him pain or dental damage when he mistimes a catch. Enter the ChuckIt Glow Ball! The minute Cowboy got his first Glow Ball, he no longer had any interest in the dozens of tennis balls scattered around the house and yard. If I took the Glow Ball away and instead threw a tennis ball, Cowboy would run to retrieve the ball, then return without it and begin looking all over the house for the Glow Ball. The Glow Ball is tough enough to survive Cowboy's big, sharp chompers, yet it's soft enough to do no harm when it hits him in the face. The glow feature is a huge bonus, too. Cowboy gets distracted by chipmunks and squirrels when we're playing, so he sometimes can't remember where he dropped the ball to pursue the interloper. If the ball was exposed to enough light before it was misplaced, it will be easy to find once the sun goes down. (Otherwise, Cowboy always finds it eventually.) When I'm feeling nocturnal, I'll put the ball under a light for a few minutes to activate the electrons, then treat my boy to a middle-of-the-night game of fetch. I was so happy to see these on sale, I bought a lifetime supply for my pantry. The size guide seems accurate. ChuckIt recommended the large size for a dog of Cowboy's weight and that size is perfect. Highly recommended product.

This is a great ball for high energy dogs.
Color: Blue
I have a Belgian Malinois, so you can imagine the Maligator jaws. Just opened this today and let her play with it indoors. She LOVES IT. It wore her out and it’s a toy she can really stay focused on without needing me to throw or roll for her. It moves on its own! I supervised her play. I was hoping it was too big to get under the couch, but no. It goes right under it. I had to block off the gap so I didn’t have to keep getting it out from under for her. The outter “shell” is very durable! When she had resting moments, she chewed it pretty good - I could hear the material squeaking against her teeth. I was worried she was tearing it up, but nope! Not a mark on it. It’s easy to set up and operate. It needed charging before play. After hours of play, she was able to somehow unscrew the outter shell. This concerned me bc the smaller, inner ball mechanism came out but I saw it right away and was able to put it back together. So, make sure it’s screwed together tightly (which I thought I had done without breaking it) and check it from time to time to make sure it hasn’t loosened. This is a great ball for her incredible high energy drive. It gives her the work and fun play she needs to get tired, which I love. This toy is on the expensive end, but so far it’s worth it. Now we’ll see how long it lasts!

Love love it
Color: Blue
Best dog toy ever. I have a 1 year old boxer who is full of energy (understatement). This ball has provided more entertainment for us both than any dog toy I’ve ever purchased. Charge holds well and has a very resilient shell. I love it. Worth the price.

Great ball for limited entertainment. Replaceable outer shell is an amazing option!
Color: Blue, Color: Blue
Bought this for our 45lb, ball-obsessed Dutch shepherd/pit bull dog mix. I had one of these years ago with the hard shell and couldn’t be happier with the new foam shell. The new foam shell is much quieter and while our dog might put holes in it with his teeth, he doesn’t seem to ever pull pieces off. For engagement level, he found it VERY interesting at first and was scared to grab it, but once he got over that he started holding it in his mouth even when it shakes and just tries to keep it. Isn’t the best for fetch or anything as he has trouble letting it go when it is actively moving, but it makes him happy while he has it. We just make sure to monitor him while it is out. The ability to change the outer shell and just buy a replacement for the shell instead of a whole new toy is a lovely feature that makes me very happy to continue buying from this company.
