Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

Philodendron 'Caramel Marble' is a cultivated Philodendron with warm marbled variegation in caramel, cream, yellow-green, and green tones. Each plant can show a different colour balance, with some leaves carrying broad pale sectors and others showing finer mottling or mixed marbling.

The pale sections can scorch or brown faster than greener tissue. Bright indirect light, warm temperatures, and a chunky substrate help protect new leaves while keeping the root zone from staying wet too long.

Foliage traits of Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

  • Leaf colour: Warm caramel, cream, yellow-green, and green tones can appear across the marbled foliage.
  • Pattern: Variegation may appear as broad sectors, mottling, or mixed marbling depending on the individual plant.
  • Leaf sensitivity: Pale sections can scorch, brown, or mark faster than greener tissue.
  • Colour change: New leaves can differ from older leaves in colour intensity and pattern.
  • Pruning check: Repeated all-green shoots can be cut back if the marbled pattern does not return on newer growth.

Growth and colour behaviour in Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

New foliage can open with different amounts of caramel, cream, yellow-green, and green tissue. Leaves with large pale areas need protection from harsh direct sun, while all-green shoots should be watched over several new leaves before pruning.

A chunky aroid mix gives the roots oxygen between waterings and reduces the risk of rot in wet conditions. Keep the plant warm and avoid cold wet substrate, especially after repotting or during slower indoor growth.

Care for Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

  • Light: Bright indirect light protects the pale sectors from harsh sun and keeps new growth from stretching.
  • Water: Water after the top part of the substrate has dried slightly; wet roots can cause yellowing and leaf decline.
  • Humidity: Moderate to high humidity reduces dry edges on new leaves, especially where pale tissue is present.
  • Substrate: A chunky aroid mix keeps the roots aerated and reduces the risk of rot in wet conditions.
  • Temperature: Warm, stable indoor temperatures are safest for variegated foliage and active root growth.
  • Pruning: Remove damaged leaves or repeatedly green shoots only after checking several new leaves from the same growth point.

Common issues with Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

  • Scorch: Direct sun can burn cream, yellow, or caramel-coloured leaf sections.
  • Brown patches: Pale areas can brown from dry air, irregular watering, or root stress.
  • Pattern loss: A growth point that keeps producing all-green leaves can be pruned back to encourage patterned growth from another node.
  • Root problems: Dense substrate that remains wet can cause yellowing, limp leaves, and slow new growth.

Safety note for Philodendron 'Caramel Marble'

Philodendron 'Caramel Marble' should be kept away from pets and children who may chew the foliage or stems. Like other Philodendron, it contains irritating calcium oxalate crystals.

This is Superman like you DON'T remember him!
Format: Kindle
I've been a fan for as long as I've been able to tie a bath towel around my neck, so diving into these early comics has been a real joy! The character was quite different in the beginning so if you're not familiar with Golden Age Superman this might be quite the eye opener. Here in these early comics, Supes certainly isn't the Big Blue Boy Scout you knew and loved in the Silver Age and beyond; early on, he's more like the Well-Meaning Big Blue Bully/Borderline Sociopath. Sort of like early Golden Age Batman: bad guys die, Superman (or Batman) kind of shrugs and thinks, "Well, they got what they deserved..." His relationship with Lois is a bit more desperate-seeming in a few places as well. In fact, he's almost a bit stalker-ish in his pursuit/attitude toward Miss Lane. You can thank DC editor Whitney Ellsworth and a few others for softening the rough edges and turning The Man of Steel into the virtuous character we have today.

This is my Superman
Format: Paperback
Before super villains came along, Superman fought corrupt businessmen and world leaders. In this volume, you get stories like Superman trapping a wealthy mine owner in his own mine so he can feel what it’s like for his exploited workers (as I type that, I thought of a great parallel that might get this review removed haha), forced warring leaders to settle their differences in person, and destroyed a ghetto to get the government to pay to give the poor people modern housing (today our government would just leave them homeless but I digress) At some point in this volume, you get the first supervillain and it gradually goes away from this great Superman at that point but this Superman is my Superman, rough scripting/art and all

Superman: The Golden Age: Volume 1 Review
Format: Paperback
If you’re a fan of, or are interested in the Golden Age of comics, this book is for you. This is really the mainstream beginning of superhero comics. Before everything became mired in continuity, there were one-shot stories that were fun, and often dark. I definitely also recommend this for people who want to get into Superman as a character. For the price, the amount of content you get just can’t be beat.

Amazing first issue
Format: Kindle
I’ve been a huge fan of Spencer Ackerman since his reporting days, his incredible book “Reign of Terror” and his DC comics work on Waller vs Wildstorm. Now I’m so excited to see him writing for Marvel. I can’t wait to see all the political intrigue and social commentary he’s going to weave into this story!

Childhood fans of Michelinie Iron Man and Mantlo Hulk are creating this
Format: Kindle
So. It's adult, real-world based, and suspenseful. As a child I could afford only to buy a few comics a month with the little.money I earned. Mantlo Hulk and Michelinie/Layton Iron Man were two of the five or six comics I bought. So glad I took a chance on checking this out. Looks like I will be reading a current series this year. A lot happens in just this one issue, both mental sparring and physical bang-ups. Nice blend of food for thought and eye candy. I'm excited for the rest of the series.
