  • The Philodendron verrucosum is a "tactile" plant. Its velvety leaf texture and hirsute (fuzzy) petioles set it apart from the glossy-leaved varieties common in most homes. It is also famous for its "color-shifting" ability as leaves mature, starting with bronze tones and deepening into a dark, moody green with high-contrast veins.

The Philodendron verrucosum is widely considered one of the "crown jewels" of the aroid world. It is a show-stopping climber that transforms any indoor space into a lush, prehistoric-looking jungle. While it requires a bit more attention than your average houseplant, its velvety texture and dramatic colors make it a must-have for serious collectors.

The "Flower" Phenomenon Like most Philodendrons, the Verrucosum produces a spathe and spadix (a hooded structure). However, it rarely blooms indoors. The focus of this plant is almost entirely on its foliage, as the "flowers" are relatively inconspicuous and lack the vibrant beauty of the leaves.

  • Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can easily burn the delicate velvet surface of the leaves.

Consistency is key. Keep the soil moist but never soggy. It dislikes drying out completely but is sensitive to "wet feet."

Requires an airy, chunky aroid mix. Use a base of coco coir or peat with heavy additions of orchid bark, perlite, and charcoal.

Ideal range is 18°C – 27°C. It is sensitive to extreme heat and cold drafts.

This plant should be fertilized once during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.

  • 11-12 (Strictly an indoor plant in cooler climates).

Puppy is obsessed, so are my adult dogs!
These were a life saver while my puppy was teething. He absolutely LOVED these and somehow the little cloth attached to it held up extremely well. I'm not sure if it was the textures or the flavor/scent but this was by far his favorite toy. He's 6 months now and will always run to this. Our adult dogs have accidentally gotten ahold of these a few times and it holds up well to them too (thankfully). Super soft and great to also throw in the freezer to soothe their teeth while teething. This is a great value and if it's something that keeps the pup occupied, I'm all for it!

Probably best for medium to large dogs
I got these for my teething Japanese Chin pups & they can’t really chew the blue part because it’s too large for small dogs. I usually just barely wet the rag & wrap treats up inside, tucking it inside itself before freezing to make something more enriching for them. They like it overall.

Great puppy teething toy!
My bernedoodle loved this toy. Long after all her teeth had fallen out, she still plays with it! It was great to be able to freeze it and let her gnaw on something that would help her feel a little better too! We both agree that this was extremely helpful and fun!

Golden Retriever puppy did not care for it but other breeds very well might
These seem to be very well made but our Goiden Retriever puppy was only interested in it for less than one minute. Before you buy i would scan the great reviews to see what breeds these really appeal to. I am sure there are some!!
