Green Leaf Callaloo

Amaranthus viridis

Callaloo is a fast-growing tall leafy green from the amaranth family. You can harvest the young tender leaves or the mature leaves/stems for cooking. It's an incredibly nutritious green that can also be juiced and added to your favorite green juice recipe. The flower buds and seeds can also be eaten. This super-food is high in calcium, potassium, vitamin C, and also provides iron, protein, lysine, and fiber! Like many other fibrous veggies, cooked Callaloo actually has more nutrients than raw. Jamaicans make a very popular dish called Callaloo by stewing the greens with onions, garlic, tomatoes, thyme, and Scotch bonnet peppers.

Grown as a summer crop in Central FL., Harvest as early as 30 days.

Callaloo is actually the name of the vegetable dish popular around the entire Caribbean. There are many variants across the Caribbean, depending on the availability of local vegetables. The main ingredient is always an indigenous leafy vegetable, traditionally either an amaranth (known by many local names including callaloo), taro (known by many local names, including dasheeen bushcallaloo bushcallaloo, or bush), malanga (known by many names, including coco & tannia), and many others.

Fantastic toy for aggressive chewiers!
I have bought two of these for my granddaughters three dogs and they love them! In fact, I only bought one to see if they would, and all 3 played with it! One is a 5 year old pit mix, one is a 9 mo. lab mix, and ine is a 10 year old shepherd mix! Miss Lab goes through toys like melting ice, so they reall have to be well made. Not even Kong toys have made it with her! All three dogs have made it squeak, which we didn't know it did! If you have an aggressive chewier, this is the toy you need to put in the #1 spot on your list to buy!

Long lasting toy for destructive doggos
Nice toy and seems to be indestructible even with two Boston Terriers trying their best to destroy it.

Great chew toy
My dogs love this toy and we still have it a month later. That’s impressive since they are aggressive chewers.
