Notable Wildlife Interactions: Little data available. Hosts at least one aphid, and a moth (Stathmopoda aenea caterpillars feed on the spores, which is p cool, tbh). Stands provide shelter for small animals. Sparingly browsed by deer.
Notes: Scientific names get dicey for this one, as there are at least three lady ferns that are sometimes lumped together, split into varieties, or split into subspecies. This is Northern Lady fern, also called Athyrium filix-femina var. angustum and Athyrium angustum. The range map is applicable.
