What I would say is that if your child is rough on shoes, I would pass on these. They are very nice, very light weight and are great for school. However, due to the design, they might not best good for some kids. In terms of sizing and comfort, my son wears a 5 and these fit him very well. He has wide feet like his dad, and these don't bother him at all. He's says they're very comfortable and does enjoy wearing them.
