Aloha Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta 'Aloha') brings the drama of the tropics to your garden with bold, oversized leaves that instantly transform any space into a lush paradise. This stunning cultivar produces glossy green foliage that can reach 2 feet long, held on sturdy stems that create a dense, architectural clump. Whether you're looking to add tropical flair to a shaded border, create a statement in a container, or accent a water feature, Aloha delivers fast-growing impact from late spring through fall.

Tropical Beauty That Thrives in Moisture

Colocasia species are native to wetland areas of Asia and have been cultivated for thousands of years for their edible corms (the well-known taro). The 'Aloha' cultivar brings that same vigorous growth habit to the ornamental garden, with foliage that emerges fresh and glossy throughout the season. The leaves naturally shed water in sheets, a fascinating adaptation that keeps the plant healthy in rainy conditions. In warm climates, you may even see the plant produce cream-colored spathes that resemble calla lilies, though the real show is the foliage.

Versatile Garden Uses

Plant Aloha Elephant Ear along pond margins where its roots can access consistent moisture, or use it to anchor mixed containers where its bold leaves contrast beautifully with fine-textured annuals. The plant works equally well in shaded woodland gardens, tropical-themed borders, or as a specimen in large decorative pots flanking entryways. In zones 8-11, plants will return reliably each spring once established. In cooler zones, grow as an annual or dig the corms in fall and store them indoors like dahlias.

Low-Maintenance Tropical Impact

Once established with consistent moisture, Aloha Elephant Ear practically grows itself. The fast growth rate means you'll see substantial size within weeks of planting, and the plants continue to produce new leaves throughout the summer. Deer and rabbits typically avoid the foliage due to calcium oxalate crystals in the leaves. The plant's water-loving nature makes it forgiving in areas where other tropicals might struggle with humidity or occasional overwatering.

This is the plant that makes neighbors stop and ask questions. The sheer size and exotic appearance of elephant ear foliage creates a focal point that anchors garden beds and containers with bold, confident style.

The cutest softest, quack, quack
Color: PINK
My seven year-old full octane energy 12 pound dog is obsessed with ducks every toy that she’s ever gotten really attached to has been a duck and I bought the same exact up from a different store at least a dozen times because she was obsessed with it. But as soon as she would get the noisemaker out of it, it was time for anyone. But it was so cheaply made I decided to start getting her different ducks that were supposed to be harder to destroy, and we still have a graveyard of destroyed ducks. But this one she doesn’t wanna destroy it. It only has one little squeaker is what I call it so she doesn’t care to try to tear it open and take it out. The material is extremely lush and soft and it is incredibly adorable. I don’t really know what makes it an interactive toy though, but I recommend it.

My 5 1/2 month old Maltese destroyed this toy in a few days so I would definitely say it is not chew resistance.

Low/mid-tier toy at a high price point
Color: YELLOW
I have two pitbulls and they LOVE their babies! Sadly, one of them likes to tear their babies apart when he gets anxious, so it was time to look for some new ones. They seem to favor any stuffed animal can be "nommed" on (suckled), so when I came across this duck rope toy, I thought I'd give it a try! The toy arrived quickly, did not have any visible defects, and looked exactly as it does in the listing photos. It has a body filled with stuffing, crinkly arms, and a rope neck. There is one squeaker in the main body section. The minute the dogs saw me unpack the duck, they were at my feet and staring at me like "hand over the baby, woman." So, I did..... And they hated it :( For some reason, my dogs have totally rejected this toy... All they do is sniff it? They typically LOVE rope toys or anything that is elongated and allows them to play tug-o-war. So, I am not sure what the deal is with this duck. *shrug* Currently, this stuffed duck rope toy is listed for $10.49 on sale, down from the regular price of $14.99. I consider this toy to be low end to mid tier at best. It's something you would expect to find at your local discount/dollar store. Based on the lower quality, I think the current price is higher than I would be willing to pay for this toy. While the toy is exactly as depicted in the listing photos, it is nothing special and definitely is NOT "indestructible."
