What is the difference between Winter and Summer Squash?

First and foremost, Squash in general, both develop and produce fruits in the summer months, up until early Autumn. The main difference is based upon harvesting, consumption, as well as the use for your Summer or Winter Squash. Summer Squash is best enjoyed when harvested early, while its fruits have a tender skin. While Winter Squash will take up to 50 to 60 percent longer to develop and can be harvest later in the season. Winter Squash fruits, such as Table Queen, Burgess Buttercup, Sweet Meat and Waltham Butternut, will have a thicker outer skin and a sweeter inner flesh, making them perfect for baking and stuffing. Summer Squash, such as Prolific Straightneck, Crookneck, Early white Scallop and Zucchini, are best consumed raw, steamed or cooked.

The outer skin is a creamy yellow to ivory color, accented with dark green stripes within its ribs. These fruits closely resemble the Sweet Dumpling Squash, yet they are just longer. The inner flesh is golden yellow / orange and sweet, making it perfect for baking. The plants themselves will reach a mature height of roughly 12 to 24 inches tall and can vine outwards to a length of 6 feet long. You can harvest your Delicata Winter Squash in approximately 80 to 100 days.

The fruits of Sweet Dumpling are roughly 4 inches in diameter, displaying an ivory colored skin, accented with dark green spots and stripes. The inner flesh is sweet with a golden yellow to creamy orange coloring. Sweet Dumpling will be ready for harvesting in roughly 100 days.

Sweet Meat Squash

Sweet Meat Squash is an heirloom winter squash from the northwest United States. It grows vigorous vines that spread 6-10 feet in every direction and are 12"-18" tall. It has large, 5-lobed leaves. The leaves and the vines are covered with small hairs called trichomes. The flowers are yellow-orange and trumpet shaped.

The flesh is dry, fine and stringless, with an incomparable flavor similar to a sweet potato. Logical and easy to read
Format: Paperback
St. Pope John Paul II may have been a polymath, but his approach to explaining the metaphysical relationship of man and the human condition as it relates to theology and our relationship with God make this a great read!

Food for thought (and life) for ages to come
Format: Paperback
Blessed John Paul II shared with the whole world the fruit of years of lived life and deep reflection, prior to being elected Bishop of Rome. Anyone who wishes to delve into this work is in for a hard-earned yet worthy treat, as it is not always an easy read, but deeply satisfying. John Paul II's understudy and friend, Stanislaw Grygiel, once challenged the pope saying that few would actually understand what he taught. The Pope replied, "Some things just have to be said!" Thanks to Prof. Michael Waldstein, we have an excellent introduction and much-improved translation of this monumental work. As I said in the title, there is the pope's catecheses on the theology of the body much food for thought (and life...and love!) for ages to come. Blessed John Paul II, thank you and pray for us!

Good to use every night...I do.
If you suffer from dry mouth during the night, these are the perfect solution. I had tried rinses - they don't last. Sprays - they don't last. lozenges - don't last. Other tablets, only last a few hours. I can get about 8 hours relief with these. Contrary to other reviews, you do not suck on them like a lozenge...they won't last at all if you do it that way. Read the directions. They "adhere" to your back molars...don't drink or eat after putting them in...as both will either dislodge or reduce the effectiveness. However, when I don't use these, my mouth is miserable and so dry. These provide enough moisture throughout the night. The flavors aren't too bad. I've used the mint (not may favorite because I'm not a fan of mint flavor), orange and berry. I wish they had other flavors (cinnamon, licorice), but till then, I'll use these probably forever.

Really helpful for dry mouth.
Scent Name: Berry, Size: 100 Count
These really work. I wear a CPAP and my mouth was so dry I was waking up with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth. They stick well so no worry of swallowing it during the night. I like the berry flavor.
